This arcade has always been a family favourite! We have been going here for decades! lol. Back in the day, they used to have all the latest games: Dance Dance Revolution, Pump It Up, EZ2Dancer, Guitar Freaks, MTV Drumscape, House of the Dead... It was a child's dream palce! lol... Unfortunately, most of these machines are long gone and with the decline of the arcade scene, most of the newer machines are redemption-based (Juicy Frutti, Large Space Invaders, Grand Piano Keys etc)
They have a prize counter for redemption, if you ask them, you can now get a card... The signup process is a little ghetto, but it works. PRO TIP: The 'casino' part (Over 18s) has free hot drinks hiding in the corner. Pop 20p in a machine, grab a drink while you're there too!
They are a bit weird with cameras in here. They said I couldn't take pictures because 'of the children'. Not sure what that was implying lol, people are weird, so I took a video instead!

Daytona USA Championship by Sega - Arcade at Skegness Tower Cinema
So I went to Skeggy purely to try this game... Utter disappointment. It may be the way its set, but compared to the original, this game is purely for one thing: Fleecing customers of money.
Graphically looks fantastic, the up/down shifter option is just not NASCAR (4 gear shifter is much better!) the handling is the same, the game plays well, but 5 kaps for Beginner, 3 laps for Advanced and 1 lap for Expert really means you have to be perfect to win, which is difficult as the AI does try and stop you now from passing. This was set to Hard and I managed 4th place (and a spin, as I can't do the last corner trick with an up/down shifter!)
It captures the spirit, but its just not as good as the original (which you can see in my other videos emulated at home)
