On my way back down from the Northland, my two German friends and I stopped in the town of Whangarei for a few days and checked out the local falls. At a pond near the falls, I decided it would be a good idea to go on a rope swing fully clothed, not a good choice. Afterwards, I thought I would try a backflip without having pulled off one before. The ending was a painful one.

We drive more than 2 hours from Auckland going to Whangarei to visit our mates. Did fishing (Part 1 of the vlog) and wander around the Whangarei Town Basin(be uploaded later ,the part 2 of the vlog).

The Whangarei Short Walk Series with #homedad
Whangarei has been our home for 4 years. This season, we are featuring several of our favorite walks within the district.
The town basin is Whangarei's showcase. Lovely cafes and craft shops lining the Hatea river with its ever growing population of yachts. The Canopy Bridge goes abuzz with activity on the monthly to fortnightly Artisan Fair during summer and the new monthly gourmet night market. On a nice day, do the entire Hatea Loop (30-40 mins brisk walk)
