Toyohashi is a city in central Japan. The vast Non Hoi Park encompasses a botanical garden, zoo and natural history museum. North, the grounds of Yoshida Castle are known for spring cherry blossoms.
The nearby Urigo Ruins are reconstructed dwellings dating from 200 CE. Futagawa Syuku Honjin Museum was once an inn on the Edo-era Tokaido Road. Boardwalks cross the wetlands of Imo Bog, home to native and rare plants.

Toyohashi Museum of Natural Resources - Japan
This natural resource center can be a fun tour by yourself or even with your family, as it has many hands on tools for learning in the basement and on the first floor. The top floor is where the planetarium is located and can be watched for a small fee.

We went to see some dinosaurs and the natural history museum in Toyohashi at Non Hoi Park. It was pretty out there. There was also a zoo, amusement park and botanical garden there too but we didn't have any time.

Toyohashi City is situated on the southeastern edge of Aichi Prefecture. The city borders Shizuoka Prefecture and the Yumihari Mountains. To the south of the city is the Pacific Ocean, and the city opens onto Mikawa Bay in the west.

Toyohashi city hall, on the top floor, has almost a 360 degree, walk around view of the surrounding area, minus the view from the Italian restaurant. It is free to take the elevator to this floor and enjoy old and new photos that are on display. The city hall is located near the Toyogawa river and Toyohashi park in Aichi prefecture, Japan.

Toyohashi Zoo and Botanical Park, Nonhoi Park, has four zones - a zoo, botanical gardens, natural history museum, and amusement park - combined together, it is a type of facility that is unusual in Japan. Yet I didn't have a chance to truly explore all the zones but it's fun enough.

NAGOYA! Japan | Worlds Biggest Planetarium | Science Centre | Nagoya Castle
Nagoya is currently home to the biggest Planetarium on Earth. As Erin has a background in Astronomy, and Francis is a science nerd, it was always high on our list to visit this city. We planned 2 days in Nagoya during our time in Japan, arriving by Shinkansesn (bullet train) and mapped out a visit to the Nagoya Planetarium and Science Centre, as well as the Nagoya Castle. But what we learnt was that not everything goes to plan during long term travel...
