Graz (Austria) - Trains, Trams, a Funicular and steam on the Stainzerbahn
Graz has a lot to offer visitors with its medieval Main Square, renaissance and baroque architecture, narrow streets, restaurants and shops. It is the capital city of Styria and Austria's second-largest city after Vienna. A funicular railway connects the main town to Schlossberg Park and Gardens, where attractive cafes look out over the town to the distant mountains. Trains serving the main station connect with most of the country’s major population centers, modern trams provide regular services from the station and the town and its suburbs. An unusual Fairy-tale railway can be found deep under the town where a miners train takes passengers on a mythical journey through a labyrinth of tunnels set up to represent scenes from famous children’s stories. Finally we take a short bus ride to Stainz, home of the Stainzerbahn steam railway for an evening dining train to Preding-Wieselsdorf.

Jubiläumsparade - 140 Jahre Straßenbahn in Graz
Am 30.Septemberg feierten die Holding Graz Linien zusammen mit dem Tramway Museum Graz das 140-jährige Bestehen der Straßenbahn seit 1878. Unter dem Motto Von der Pferdetram bis zur Variobahn fand vor der Stadthalle eine Fahrzeugparade mit historischen Fahrzeugen der Grazer Straßenbahn statt.

Danke an das Tramway Museum Graz und die HGL für diese schöne Veranstalltung! Ich fürchte das nächste Mal wird es sowas erst wieder 2028 zum 150 Jahre Jubiläum geben.

Rangierarbeiten nach der Jubiläumsparade - Tramway Graz
Zu sehen sind einige Impressionen der Rangierarbeiten in der Remise 1 (Steyrergasse), in der nach der Fahrzeugparde ( einige der teilnehmenden Fahrzeuge eingezogen wurden.
Da die Strecke nach Mariatrost diesen Sommer geschlossen ist, wurden die fahrtüchtigen Fahrzeuge des Tramway Museum Graz während des Sommers hier abgestellt.
Shoppingbim in Graz - Oldtimer im Einsatz - 23.07.2012
Die Shoppingbim verkehrt von 23.07 bis 01.09, Mo-Sa zwischen Jakominiplatz und Annenstraße-Barmherzigenkirche.
Dabei kommt eine Oldtimergarnitur des Tramway Museum Graz zum Einsatz.

Am 26.11.2012 wurde die Straßenbahnunterführung in Graz in Betrieb genommen.
Der Clip ist eine Kurzfassung einer DVD mit einer Gesamtspielzeit von etwa 75 Minuten, die es im Shop des Tramway Museums Graz käuflich zu erwerben gibt.

Graz is the capital of Austria’s federal state of Styria and in 2003 was designated as Europe’s Capital City Of Culture. Indeed, due to its geographical location, for many centuries Graz has been a melting pot of culture.The Schlossberg Mountain towers above the city and in 1894 a rack railway was introduced in order to overcome the severity of its 60 per cent gradient. The Romans and Celts once used the mountain as a place of ritual ceremony and today small pathways and pavilions make the mountain more accessible. In the 12th century a mediaeval castle was built on the plateau and in 1531 it was transformed into a mighty fortress that served as a defence against the Turks. With nearly 32,000 exhibits that date from the 15th to the 19th centuries the Zeughaus contains the largest collection of historic weaponry in the world. The often-extended Grazer Burg was once the residence of the Hapsburgs. One of its towers contains a unique double spiral Gothic staircase constructed of sandstone that shines out magnificently in a wonderful array of colour. The entire complex, along with each of its numerous building styles and adjoining park, is now the seat of Styria’s provincial government. Located on a hill to the north east there is another fine example of Baroque architecture, the Maria Trost Basilica. In the 17th century those who sought help and consolation climbed two hundred and fifteen steps to a Gothic Madonna who was thought to possess miraculous powers. Within the interior of the church and its colourful wall and ceiling mounted frescos, there are also various scenes of battle. Graz is a city in which the artistic and architectural styles of the German-speaking nations, the Balkans and the Mediterranean are united. It is a remarkable city of age old traditions, mediaeval flair and contemporary life.

Historische Straßenbahn TW 22 (Straßenbahn Graz)
Am 30. Juni 2013, fand im Tramway Museum Graz das Fest Ein Runder 50er statt! Um 10:00 Uhr, fuhr der schon über 100 Jahre alte Triebwagen 22 (Baujahr 1899) mit dem Beiwagen 36b zum Jakominiplatz um dort die Ehrengäste abzuholen! Anschließend fuhren der Triebwagen 22 & Beiwagen 36b mit den Ehrengästen zurück nach Mariatrost!
Außerdem ist im Video noch der Fahrzeugkonvoi mit alten Puch Autos & Motorrädern sowie anderen Oldtimer Autos zu sehen!

Frohe Weihnachten mit der Adventbim aus Graz - Winter 2016/17 mit SGP 267
Mein Weihnachtsgeschenk an Euch ...
Mit diesem Adventmix, entstanden aus Aufnahmen rund um die Weihnachtsstimmung in Graz, wünsche ich allen Besuchern meines Kanals frohe Weihnachten.
Eine knackige Szenenauswahl vom Weihnachtsmarkt am Hauptplatz und Südtiroler Platz, von der Eiskrippe im Landhaus und natürlich von der Advent-Bim. Bim? So werden hier in Graz die Straßenbahnen bezeichnet, abgeleitet von der Klingel: Bimbim! Früher sagte man ja auch Bimmelbahn wegen der läutenden Glocke bei der Einfahrt.
Diese Adventbim fährt in Graz seit einigen Jahren in der gesamten Vorweihnachtszeit von Mitte November bis Heilig Abend. Eine Fahrt vom Jakominiplatz, über den Hauptplatz, Südtiroler Platz, Hauptbahnhof bis zur Laudongasse dauert ca. 30 Minuten und geht bis auf drei kurze Halte in einer Fahrt durch. Die alte SGP-Tram von 1963 ist festlich geschmückt und es spielt besinnliche, weihnachtliche Musik. In der Tram gibt es mitunter leckere Kekse und Kuchen.
Die Aufnahmen entstanden an drei Drehtagen im November 2016, Dezember 2016 und Dezember 2017 in HD, aufgenommen mit einer Sony AX 33E und/oder einem iPhone SE. Leider sind die Aufnahmen von November 2016 unbeabsichtigt in einer geringeren Auflösung entstanden. Aber wer findet die Unterschiede? Was hat sich in 12 Monaten alles verändert? Schreibt es in die Kommentare.
Schon meine ursprünglichen Straßenbahnvideos aus Köln und Graz entstanden zu einem großen Teil zur weihnachtlichen und besinnlichen Zeit. Fakt ist, dass ich von Köln sehr viele (Kindheits-)Erinnerungen habe, mit der Linie 1 zum Neumarkt zum Weihnachtsmarkt gefahren zu sein.
In dem Sinne wünsche ich allen Besuchern und Begeisterten des Themas ein frohes Fest und ein gutes, neues Jahr 2018.
