Unforgettable time on a Treasure Junk in Ha Long Bay, Vietnam 2015
Come travel with Sushi to Halong Bay on a Treasure Junk !
This has to be one of my favourite trips - two days on the mystical Halong Bay, Halong means - where the dragon descends !
This is a UNESCO site since 1994.
The limestone islands are surrounded by pristine water and the mountains that seem to rise from them seem ethereal in the mist , layer upon layers of mountains with a never ending perspective or so it seems.
The Boat trip is very interesting , between the spectacular views are Master Classes of Introduction to Tai Chi, Vietnam cuisine , not to forget the Kayak trip to the cave with coral and shells , as if that was not enough .. a short boat trip to an island that specialises in cultured pearls with the pearl master explaining the process in his inimitable expressive manner, which I don't dare transcribe! ;-)
Beyond luxury - so unexpected !!the hospitality , the rooms , the dining salon , the food , the friends and in the backdrop the beautiful Halong Bay ! Perfect .

Kayak in Halong Bay from Treasure Junk
There's no better way to explore Halong Bay on a kayak. You can get closer to the rock, stop by beaches, visit local floating houses....
Dragons Pearl, Indochina Junk Review, 3D2N tour @ Halong Bay, Vietnam
This is a basic review of my experience on board the junk Dragons Pearl III with Indochina Junk. Room featured in the video is just the standard double room on the boat.
You cruise through the less traveled Bai Tu Long Bay which is deserted in comparison to the main part of Halong Bay. I would heavily recommend the 3 day 2 night version as you get to enjoy the lovely experience of the dinner in the cave which is great and it is a 4 hour drive from Hanoi each way so you get a lot more time to relax and take it all in.
The food they serve is great and all fresh and local. It is seafood heavy but before you depart they ask you what you prefer and they cater it to all needs(vegetarian or even just chicken based).
We took our trip in May 2014. Looking at their website now it appears they have a large new boat but I would recommend going on their smaller ones which are more traditional junks and feel more cosy.
[Indochina Junk Halong Bay] Kayaking on Halong Bay - not to be missed experience !
A product of Indochina Junk:
Kayaking in Halong Bay is the best way to explore the breathtaking beauty of Halong Bay. Paddle through islets; visit hidden caves, lagoons, unspoiled beaches and floating fishing villages…Kayaks go where other big boats cannot. Depending on trip length, visitors have different kayak route and time frame. Cruise with Indochina Junk, paddling around the islands, get closer to limestone karst and enjoy the breathtaking nature in a less visited corner of Bai Tu Long Bay must be a great experience for life.
When kayaking, you must follow the tour guide; it is risky to do by yourself without warning or instruction. The tour guide will help you use paddle and guide you to the safe area. Life jacket is a must for this activity when cruising Halong Bay. You can need to prepare suitable clothes: T-shirt and short, swimming suit in summer; warm clothes in the winter; wet shoes, hat, sunglasses… bring water, sun cream, dry bag storing camera, insect repellent…
Thanks to the bay’s thousands of islands the conditions for sea kayaking are ideal – the water is calm, the current is fine and the wind is not too strong.
Kayaking is provided and included in all itineraries and cruise offered by Indochina Junk.

Adventures in Northern Vietnam (P1) - Ninh Binh & Ha Long Bay
Adventures in Northern Vietnam, Part I: Ninh Binh, and Ha Long Bay / Bai Tu Long Bay
JOIN THE ADVENTURE: adventureviv.com
In Episode 014, adventureViV and her CameraMan explore Ninh Bình and Ha Long Bay / Bai Tu Long Bay. Because Northern Vietnam is incredibly beautiful and there's so much to show you, we'll save Sa Pa (Sapa) and Hanoi for next episode.
Ninh Binh is known as the Ha Long (Halong) Bay on land. As we've traveled up the coast from Saigon, many of our new friends recommended we visit Ninh Binh -- thank you! This place is gorgeous, even on a cloudy and overcast day. Can you imagine what Ninh Binh looks like on a clear day?! We rent a motorbike and ride around Ninh Binh, Tam Coc, and Trang An, visiting the Bich Dong Pagoda, Trang An Grottoes, and Mua Mountain and Caves. Ninh Binh is only a short train or bus ride from Hanoi, so if you're in town, definitely spend two days exploring the area.
After a quick overnight in Hanoi (luckily for us on a Friday night when the Night Market was in full action), we went on a 3 day, 2 night cruise to Bai Tu Long Bay. We discovered Handspan Indochina Travels, an eco-conscious company that focuses on responsible travel. What an amazing tour company! Our cruise on the Treasure Junk was a dream come true, especially since we visited the less crowded, more remote, and more beautiful neighbor of Ha Long (Halong) Bay. We thoroughly enjoyed our suite upgrade -- thank you!
Watch us cruise past gigantic limestone structures, kayak in calm waters, fly the drone on remote beaches, visit fishing villages, and participate in morning Tai Chi sessions.
Stay tuned for our upcoming episode, where we show you beautiful terraced rice fields of Sa Pa (Sapa) and the old world charm of Hanoi and more.
Thanks to all of our subscribers and supporters! If you know someone planning a visit to Vietnam, please share our videos with them!
