Using the Trains in Italy From Rome to Florence to Venice (TRENITALIA)
This video shows how to use the trains in Italy to get to Rome, Florence, or Venice or any other city on the rail line. The trains are fast, and they take you to the heart of each city. You can buy tickets ahead of time using the trenitalia.com website, or italiarail.com. Or you can buy your tickets at the train station from a ticket office, or using the ticket machines. In Venice you will see Porters outside of the train station and they will take your luggage for you to your hotel. Make sure to negotiate the price with the porters, their first price quote is not their last. You can also take a water taxi, but then you will need to carry your own luggage. I hope this video helps! Enjoy Italy!

Rome & Florence are only a 1.5 hour train ride away from each other, so it is definitely possible to visit each city even if you have only a few days in Italy. A fast & economical way to travel between each city is using the train - TrenItalia, which is a great operator to use.

Trenitalia is the most popular train service in Italy (although, Italo treno isn't far behind). They offer 4 different types of seat classes, Economy (or standard), Premium, Business, and Executive. We will be covering 3 of the 4 given that Economy and Premium are too similar to compare.

Travel Video- Rome to Florence by Train
Florence, capital of Italy’s Tuscany region, is home to many masterpieces of Renaissance art and architecture. One of its most iconic sights is the Duomo, a cathedral with a terracotta-tiled dome engineered by Brunelleschi and a bell tower by Giotto. The Galleria dell'Accademia displays Michelangelo’s “David” sculpture. The Uffizi Gallery exhibits Botticelli’s “The Birth of Venus” and da Vinci’s “Annunciation.”

Trenitalia: how to validate (stamp) a train ticket in Italy
Validate your ticket before you get on board.
Look for these green and white machines. Insert the ticket on the left of the slot. (I don't think it matters which end you stamp). You'll hear a printer noise, and the time and date will be printed in the corner.
Do the exact same thing to validate smaller (business card sized) tickets. Stick the ticket in on the left of the slot.
