Tuen Mun Park - Singers and Dancers from china with local old man
In case you don’t know:
Many parks in Hong Kong were occupied by ‘dancers’ and ‘singers’ from china. They received cash gifts from the local old men and not letting local families share the public space. Thus there's another protest from the citizen.
Many said their old aged fathers would take cash from home and rewards those ‘singers’ and even bring them home, eventually ruined the family.
Local mothers said they can’t take the kids to parks any more as those Chinese singers are doing some kind of business in the parks. They even beat up local when they considered that the kids are ‘getting in their way’.
Police in Hong Kong had been harsh on the student protesters but they simply ignored the open vulgarity and illegally occupied public space in those parks.

Read our full report:
The “Reclaim Tuen Mun” rally kicked off in the New Territories town on Saturday after an initial police ban was overturned.
The march was against the activities of ‘damas’ or middle-aged women from mainland China, whose singing and dancing in Tuen Mun park have sparked complaints from local residents. The march quickly turned into an anti-government protest as a stand-off between protesters and riot police outside Tuen Mun MTR station took place soon after the march began. After vandalising the Town Centre Light Rail station, protesters set up barricades and tossed petrol bombs before being dispersed by rounds of tear gas and sponge grenades.

'Tuen Mun or Castle Peak is a city near the mouth of Tuen Mun River and Castle Peak Bay in the New Territories, Hong Kong. It was one of the earliest settlements in what is now Hong Kong and can be dated to the Neolithic period.[1] In the more recent past, it was home to many Tanka fishermen who gathered at Castle Peak Bay.[2] Tuen Mun is now a modern, mainly residential area in the north-west New Territories. As of 2011, 487 546 live in Tuen Mun and over 95% of them are Chinese.[3]
There are three traditional-style markets in the town: Tuen Mun Kau Hui (屯門舊墟), Tuen Mun San Hui (屯門新墟) and Sam Shing Hui (三聖墟).
There are many government facilities also, including the Tuen Mun Magistracy, and governmental offices. Leisure facilities include several sports complexes, a multi-story central library supplemented by two others, and a theatrical and concert venue in the form of the Tuen Mun Town Hall at Tuen Mun Town Centre.
The Correctional Services Department operates the Tai Lam Centre for Women in the district.'
'uen Mun Park (Chinese: 屯門公園), formerly known as Tuen Mun Town Park, is located in Tuen Mun.[1] It is the largest town park in the New Territories, Hong Kong, covering 12.5 hectares (31 acres).[2]
The park sits between the Tuen Mun River and Tuen Mun Town Centre, near Tuen Mun Town Plaza, Tuen Mun Public Library and Tuen Mun Town Hall. It is next to Tuen Mun Station and the Light Rail Town Centre Stop.

Why the images and sound of Tuen Mun Park are worth to record?
The park has made headlines over controversy surrounding noise generated by musicians in the park. Neighbours of the park long complained of the noise nuisance, while others defended the primarily retired singers who congregated in the park. In 2006, the LCSD proposed to designate special areas in the park for singing and performance with no external amplification allowed, while singing groups complained that singing without amplification was akin to cooking without salt. Nearby residents groups complained the plan was insufficient, with a Kam Wah Garden resident stating that the performances were a poison to us all and lamenting the perpetual need to close all the windows at home. A proposal to build a noise barrier was scrapped after the Architectural Services Department determined that the barrier would increase traffic noise by reflecting it back toward the residential area.
LCSD subsequently established a performance stage and two self-entertainment zones farther away from residential blocks in an effort to mitigate the problem. However, amplifiers are still used, leading to continued noise complaints, and performances continue to take place elsewhere in the park.

As of 2019 the issue persists, leading to continued controversy. Many of the singers are now dai ma (大媽), scantily clad dancing aunties who sing in Mandarin Chinese using amplifiers. They have been accused of begging and prostitution, and of attracting lecherous older men to the park, scaring away other park users. These men reward the singing and dancing dai ma with lai see, red packets containing cash. On 6 July 2019, a protest against the dai ma was held. Thousands of protesters marched down Tuen Mun Heung Sze Wui Road and into the park, chanting slogans such as reclaim Tuen Mun, give me a quiet park!. They accused the LCSD and police of failing to tackle the noise problem through law enforcement. They also called for the self-entertainment zones to be scrapped, alleging that they attracted noisy performers to the park from other districts of Hong Kong.
On 9 July 2019, the Tuen Mun District Council unanimously passed a motion calling to discontinue the self-entertainment zones and to step up law enforcement at the park. Later that day, the LCSD announced that the zones would be scrapped in September of that year.
Against the backdrop of the intensifying 2019 Hong Kong protests, another march was held on 21 September 2019 by protesters who alleged that the dai ma had returned to the park. Police had initially banned the event, but the ban was overturned on appeal. Tuen Mun Station was pre-emptively closed by the police. Protesters marched from San Wo Lane Playground, through Tuen Mun Park, to the Tuen Mun Government Offices, where they burned the flag of the People's Republic of China. The police cut the event short and undertook a dispersal operation, firing tear gas and sponge grenade rounds at protesters, some of whom threw Molotov cocktails. Light rail and MTR bus services in the area were subsequently suspended. Protests spread to the nearby town of Yuen Long that evening, marking the two-month anniversary of the July attacks that took place there.

-----------------------------
My name is Dennis. In 2009, I opened this channel to record or document this city. I know something is being changed in next decade(s), or I felt the change have began since 2003, no later in 2046. I want to, at least, save some kind of city life in video form instead of taken photo or written in words. I strongly believe that motion picture and sound recording are much better way to preserve and present in the future when young generation want to get know of Hong Kong.
In May of 2018, I wrote the following statement in below:
.....................................................................................
Hi everyone, thank you for supporting me in fulfilling my childhood dream of making videos.
My parents had always taken a tolerant attitude toward my “capricious”: whether my work is feasible and sustainable... and they never complained about it.
As my father just passed away in May, I am left with no choice but to give up my video making venture.
In Hong Kong where the cost of living is sky high, youtube video making is simply not sustainable by google adsense alone. The revenue produced is way too insufficient for affording a domestic helper, and I must look after my mom all by myself - this is why I must stay very close to her at all times.
Unless my revenue is closed to market rate, or my income can cover a domestic helper, otherwise I can hardly justify any video-related works.
Therefore, from now on everything video will be postponed in terms of year(s).
Thank you, and hope to see you all again in the future.
..............................................................
Because I am the only son of my mother in Hong Kong, and I have to take care of her at home. I almost give up this channel because of high consumption of time and living cost. But I found some extra time.
I live in Fanling, north part of New Territories, so it will include my showtime of traveling back and forth. Because of home care to my old mother, there will be no time other than 9:00 to 16:00 because my mother is staying at the senior daycare center, so before and after that, I will NOT able to do filming.
I understand most of you are looking for high quality of video, e.g. 4K or 8K. But hardware is so important at this post-production, that is, the higher quality video, the higher powerful computer to render video. In recently, I solved matter by paid for PowerDirector apps to make 4K on my Pocophone F1, 1 hour of 4K video = 2 hour to make, besides, the convert 4K file time is around 24 hours......
I will continue to run this channel as long as the time is fit-on-me or I don't see any kind of video job could fit me.
I hope this is clear to everyone.

MTR - Excursion to Tuen Mun LRT Chinese New Year 2004
Hong Kong Chinese New Year 2004
Using the ticket bonus included in the MTR Chinese New Year commemorative ticket marking the 2004 Year of the Monkey, this video records a trip out to Tuen Mun on the West Rail Line.
The West Rail line interconnects with stations on the Light Rail network providing a fast service to urban Kowloon and Hong Kong.
With the completion of West Rail in December 2003, the fast ferry service from Tuen Mun ferry pier to Central ceased.
As the population of the North Western New Territories grew due to the creation of new towns in the late 1970s, the HK Government decided that an integrated light rail system would best meet the area’s transportation needs. Built and operated by the then Kowloon Canton Railway Corporation in 1988, the LRT is now part of the Mass Transit Railway Corporation. The Light Rail Vehicles (LRVs) seen in the video were built by Comeng and Goninan of Australia and Kawasaki of Japan.
