Sri Lankai bazározás és tuktuk élmény Kandy városában | Dél-Ázsia Vlog Ep04 | Gaba_VR
Egy ártatlan szuvenírvásárlási kísérlet során felfedezzük Kandy bazárnegyedét a régi belváros területén.

Sri Lanka Solo Travel Vlog | Weligama Taxi vs. Tuk Tuk
When it comes to transportation for solo travellers in Sri Lanka (definitely in Weligama!), a taxi isn't always the best choice. Not that they aren't comfy but their fares are often optimised for two to four passengers, not for one. Sure taxis and car & drivers are still relatively inexpensive but compared to my home base of Malaysia, I've been quoted 2 - 3x what I would normally pay, which I have been paying. But on a day when I only had a few kilometre to travel to my next check-in, I opted for a fun tuk tuk ride. It was fast, breezy, and turned into a hella-fun Weligama Scenic Tour!
Join me as I travel by tuk tuk from Kumara private villa in the jungle of Weligama to the Relais & Chateaux property Cape Weligama.

Where I Stayed in Weligama - Private Villa & Resort:
- Private Villa! I stayed at Kumara via Eden Villas in Sri Lanka and it turned into one of my top 3 villas from the past couple of years. It's a very special place:
- Resort! Resplendent Ceylon's Cape Weligama is a cliffside paradise that is perfect for foodies and anyone wishing to escape the world 100%:

FIRST DAY IN SRI LANKA · GALLE FACE GREEN & GETTING TO COLOMBO FROM THE AIRPORT | TRAVEL VLOG #49
We are finally in Sri Lanka, and we fell in love the moment we stepped out of the plane. On further thought, I fell in love when we flew over the Sri Lankan hill country. What a beautiful journey! Oh well, back to reality and to this video. We landed in Colombo, and after talking to a few taxi drivers we started getting a bit worried. We planned on taking the bus, but they told us it was a two hour drive to the city, and we were definitely not up for that. Fortunately for us, this wasn't our first time arriving in a new country, so I had looked everything up beforehand, and the bus journey was only supposed to take 40 minutes. We waved goodbye to the taxi drivers and went to search for the bus. It was easy enough to find and even though we had a lot of luggage, there was no problem whatsoever. We got on the bus and waited for a little while. We bought our tickets on the bus and paid 130 rupees each (about $1), and 40 minutes later we were in Colombo. Easy peasy.
We took a tuktuk from the bus station and negotiated a price before we jumped in – a few days later we found out that there are actually metered tuktuks in Sri Lanka. Had we known that at the time, we would have taken one of those and saved a little, but we managed to get a pretty good deal so that was okay. We paid 350 rupees to get to our hotel (meter would been 200-250), but at first he wanted 1500 rupees which is way way way too much. Our host told us that some of his guests had paid 2200 rupees for the 200 rupee drive. The tuktuk drivers can be a challenge, but there are so many tuktuks, so you can always just find another one (preferably a metered one so you don't have to haggle), and most of the drivers are nice (once you are done negotiating).
We only had a few hours of daylight left when we got to the apartment, so we decided to go to Galle Face Green to catch the sunset. We didn't really know what Galle Face Green was – we just knew it was by the sea, so we thought it'd be a good place to watch the sunset.
It really was, and we had such a lovely time there. Everyone has told us to avoid Colombo, but I have to say – it's not that bad. It's actually a nice place to spend a few days if you know where to go and what to see, so stay tuned for our videos from Colombo!

Hi there! I'm Anne-Li – Danish girl, globetrotter, travel vlogger, blogger and digital nomad traveling the world with my partner in crime and long-term boyfriend Mathias. Spending a month in Budapest every summer taught us that traveling does not have to be expensive and that slow travel is the way to go – for us. We have been traveling full-time since September 2016, and we usually base ourselves in one place for at least a month or two. This way of traveling is not only budget friendly – it also means that we can take our time and really explore and enjoy the place we're in. We eat local food, shop at local markets, meet local people and enjoy experiencing different cultures – all the while seeking out the best wifi and exploring everything there is to explore. Everyday is another adventure, and we’d love for you to be part of it!

Sri Lanka,ශ්රී ලංකා,Ceylon, Kandy : Tuk Tuk ride through City Center
Three Wheeler ride through the streets of the Kandy City Center. These little vehicles are used all over the island and perform as inexpensive taxi cabs also known as Tuk Tuk.
An auto rickshaw or three-wheeler (tuk-tuk, trishaw, auto, rickshaw, autorick, bajaj, rick, tricycle, mototaxi, or baby taxi in popular parlance) is a motor vehicle and a mode of transport for private use and as a vehicle for hire. It is a motorized version of the traditional rickshaw or velotaxi, a small three-wheeled cart operated by a single individual, and is a 3-wheeled cabin cycle. Auto rickshaws can be found in many Asian countries such as Bangladesh, Cambodia, Nepal, India, Laos, the Philippines, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Thailand, as well as in Guatemala, Peru and some African countries such as Ethiopia, Sudan, and in some parts of Egypt.
An auto rickshaw is generally characterized by a sheet-metal body or open frame resting on three wheels, a canvas roof with drop-down sides, a small cabin in the front of the vehicle for the driver (sometimes called an auto-wallah), and seating space for up to three passengers in the rear. They are generally fitted with an air-cooled scooter version of a two-stroke engine, with handlebar controls instead of a steering wheel. Many auto rickshaws follow the original design of the Piaggio Ape C, from 1956, which was originally based on the Vespa. Auto rickshaws are considered light duty vehicles.
About the town of Kandy:
Kandy: (Sinhala: මහ නුවර maha nuvara, pronounced [mahaˈnuʋərə]; Tamil: கண்டி kaṇṭi, pronounced [ˈkaɳɖi]) is the English name for the city of Maha Nuvara (Senkadagalapura) in the centre of Sri Lanka. It was the last capital of the ancient kings' era of Sri Lanka. The city lies in the midst of hills in the Kandy plateau, which crosses an area of tropical plantations, mainly tea. Kandy is one of the most scenic cities in Sri Lanka; it is both an administrative and religious city. It is the capital of the Central Province (which encompasses the districts of Kandy, Matale and Nuwara Eliya) and also of Kandy District. Kandy is the home of The Temple of the Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa) one of the most venerable places for the Buddhist community of Sri Lanka and all around the world. It was declared by the UNESCO has a world heritage in 1988. (Wikipedia)
