There's a new gang in town: young, colourful, speedy and you see them just about everywhere in Phnom Penh.
But all's not well on the capital's increasingly crowded streets where ageing cyclos, motor taxis, locally made tuk-tuks and cars all battle for road space.
Need-to-know language:
cyclos – simple bicycle taxis
tuk-tuks – three-wheeled motorised vehicles used as taxis
auto-rickshaw – (also) three-wheeled motorised vehicle used as a taxi
ride-hailing – ordering a taxi to take you somewhere
carriages – (here) transport vehicles for paying passengers

Phnom Penh Too Many Tuk Tuks? Tuk Tuk? Tips
Are there too many tuk tuks in Phom Penh? The answer of course is yes! This video is focused on the ever-changing tuk tuk and autorickshaw situation in Phnom Penh with tips and suggestions on how to cope with the current environment. If you would prefer to use a regular car taxi in Phnom Penh they must be booked either with one of the ride share apps like Grab or PassApp Taxi or with the help of your hotel or guesthouse. You can of course call a taxi yourself but it is nearly impossible to hail a cab on the street. If you're booking a tuk tuk on the street you can use the apps as a reference, although the drivers on the street will no doubt expect more. ALWAYS AGREE TO A PRICE UP FRONT!!!

We are traveling at night in Phnom Penh on TukTuk. It was great and enjoy the light at night and traffic is not so bad but people still going and coming to their destination in the city. We are going to a party with our friend tonight and TukTuk is the best transportation for us as it's easy and enjoy the nightlife along the road. Let's see what we are sharing here, it's a beautiful scene at night along the road in Phnom Penh city, Cambodia.

Travel by TukTuk and Eat Foods in Phnom Penh City | A Family Lifestyle in Cambodia, Southeast Asia
My daughter Rawin is unwell, we're taking her to the clinic. Luckily it's a holiday so we can travel around town by Tuk Tuk and eat various foods. We traveled to Apsara Phnom Penh clinic in the morning and had lunch along the road. It was fried noodle with egg, omelet egg and pate. After lunch, we went to Domino's Pizza and then Movie at Legend cinema. After movie, we walked into My burger lab to grab a bacon & cheese black burger for Raby and to Big Apple Donut for Rawin's favorite donuts. In the evening, we took a TukTuk around the city and to dinner at a street foods stall along Charles De Gaulle Blvd., street 217 next to the former Angkor Movie theater. Raby had fried rice with omelet when me, my wife and Rawin had fried noodle with omelets. It's a one day lifestyle of my family in Phnom Penh city in Cambodia, Southeast Asia.

Phnom Penh (/pəˈnɔːm ˈpɛn/ or /ˈnɒm ˈpɛn/;[2][3] Khmer: ភ្នំពេញ, Khmer pronunciation: [pʰnum peɲ]), formerly known as Chaktomuk (Khmer: ចតុមុខ Four Faces), is the capital and most populous city of Cambodia. Located on the banks of the Tonlé Sap and Mekong River, Phnom Penh has been the national capital since French colonization of Cambodia, and has grown to become the nation's center of economic and industrial activities, as well as the center of security, politics, cultural heritage, and diplomacy of Cambodia.
Once known as the Pearl of Asia, it was considered one of the loveliest French-built cities in Indochina[4] in the 1920s. Phnom Penh, along with Siem Reap and Sihanoukville, are significant global and domestic tourist destinations for Cambodia. Founded in 1434, the city is noted for its beautiful and historical architecture and attractions. There are a number of surviving French colonial buildings scattered along the grand boulevards.

The Indianized kingdom built monumental temples including Angkor Wat, now a World Heritage Site, and facilitated the spread of first Hinduism, then Buddhism to much of Southeast Asia. After the fall of Angkor to Ayutthaya in the 15th century, a reduced and weakened Cambodia was then ruled as a vassal state by its neighbours.
