Urguelling Monastery of Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh- Interior (VID 20171019 153902)
A small #monastery called Urguelling Monastery near #Tawang, where the 6th Dalai Lama was born. The architecture is typically Bhutanese. The local tribe, Monpa, is known to be very close both linguistically and culturally, to present Bhutanese people. The similarities may have the roots in this fact. Interestingly though, Bhutan as a country does not follow the Tibetan sect of Buddhism, they have their own sect and own equivalent to Dalai Lama.
The walls of this monastery have a display of pictures all the previous Dalai Lamas, their names and respective tenures.
Sorry for the jerky video, taken with my mobile #redminote4 handheld. #travel #arunachal
