Trams in Bordeux, France - trams à Bordeaux, France
By demand of the Municipality of Bordeaux (CUB), part of the system uses ground-level power supply (APS). There is no overhead wire, and electric power to the tram is supplied by a center rail with only the portion directly under the tram electrically alive. This prevents electrocution of pedestrians and animals. See the adjacent photograph.

Bordeaux France

Places to see in ( Bordeaux - France ) Quinconces Esplanade
Places to see in ( Bordeaux - France ) Quinconces Esplanade
Quinconces Esplanade is one of the most-photographed sites in the city... and the most emblematic of the French Revolution in Bordeaux with the famous monument built for the Girondins. Located on the river, this 12-hectare square is the largest in Europe. The word quinconces refers to the way the way the trees are planted, in staggered rows.
The Place des Quinconces is the venue all year long for fairs, circuses, sporting events and artistic events. Quinconces station is a multimodal transport hub (trams B & C, terminus for several bus routes, and Vcub share bikes) so there is a steady flow of visitors.
Located just across from and quite close to the river, there are two rostral columns topped with statues dedicated to Bordeaux's maritime and commercial activities. On the side of the Quinconces closest to the city centre are found large statues of the Bordeaux philosophers Montaigne and Montesquieu. Looking westward, the Monument aux Girondins consists of bronze fountains and a column with a staute of liberty breaking its chains on top. This bears witness to the Girondin political faction during the French Revolution. Of course, this has nothing to do with the Girondins football club. Despite an urban myth to this effect one hears from time to time
The Place des Quinconces is one of the most popular locations in the city, with a steady stream of tourists seeking a bit of fresh air and a beautiful setting in which to take photos. Some of them dip their feet into the fountain or even bathe in it, whereas others climb on top of the massive statues- which is nevertheless not recommended

Beyond Bordeaux Episode 2: Street Art In Bordeaux
For more than a decade, an abandoned military barrack in the city of Bordeaux served as a canvas and haven for the street artists and alternative youth culture of Bordeaux. In 2009, a community proposal was presented to establish the space as a more formalized initiative to support artists, entrepreneurs and innovators. Today, the Darwin Center houses a co-working space, organic cafe & general store, numerous skateboard parks, roller derby rink, gallery space, artist studios and more, all with a strong emphasis on the environment.
As the epicenter for Bordeaux's forward thinkers and innovators, artists and alternatives, the Darwin Center honors the past, lives for the present and is dedicated to a better future. In this episode, Patrick visits two artists who have been spray painting the walls of Darwin since the beginning, and learns that winemaking and street art may not be so different.

You'll Never Guess What's Behind This Garage Door in Bordeaux, France!
A Photographer named Jérémie Buchholtz wanted to find an apartment close to work in Bordeaux, France, but his search didn't result in him finding something he liked; therefore, as the old expression goes, 'when you can't find it, build it.' he did just that. He was determined to build his living space to his specifications.
Instead of finding a house, he stumbled onto an abandoned garage. Realizing he found a diamond in the rough, he called a friend named Matthieu de Marien who is an architect. Together, they envisioned transforming this abandoned garage into an apartment. The resulting apartment is an amazing architectural design that maximizes space and lighting. The interior features amazing home decor and decorations to make it a beautiful home.
