How to reach Velneshwar Beach by road
Velneshwar lies on the west coast of India and is at a distance of 302 km from Mumbai, its shortest distance from a major city. Several state and tourist buses ply between Mumbai and Velneshwar. It is also well-connected to other popular Maharashtrian spots like Pune, Ratnagiri and Satara. The route to Velneshwar from Mumbai takes you through Mangaon – Mahad – Khed – Chiplun – Guhagar. How to reach Velneshwar Beach by train
The nearest railhead to Velneshwar is Chiplun which is located at around 60 km from Velneshwar. Several private and government vehicles ply between Velneshwar and Chiplun. Chiplun is well-connected by rail to most major cities of India including Mumbai and Pune.
How to reach Velneshwar Beach by flight
The nearest airport to Velneshwar is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International airport in Mumbai. The distance between Mumbai and Veneshwar is 302 km and the road route takes close to 7 hours.

How to get there -
By air
The nearest airport is Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji international Airport; from where one has to take a train or travel by road.
By rail
The nearest railway station, which is approximately 60 km away from Velneswar is situated in Chiplun, which is located on the Konan railway route.
By road
From Mumbai, this beach is located at around 370 km distance and is also approximately 16 km away from Guhagar. In order to reach here Maharashtra State Transport (MSRTC) Buses are also available. From Pune to Velneshwar the distance is approximately 200km; from Ratnagiri it is around 170kms.
Where to stay
Though there are many private resorts that are available, one can also stay in the government resort that is located near the beach.

Guhagar is a census city in Ratnagiri district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Guhagar is known for its virgin beach, coir items, coconuts, betel nuts and mainly Haapus Alphonso mangoes. The nearest city and railhead is Chiplun, about 44 kilometres (27 mi) away. The economy of Guhagar boomed after the Dabhol Power Company, a few kilometres north was commissioned in the early 1990s. Hotels sprung up and residents were given well-paid jobs.
Guhagar is famous for Durga Devi temple, Guhagar and Vyadeshwar temple.

Many people who had roots from this village were involved in India's struggle for freedom and have gone on to be one of the greatest individuals in the nation.

Velneshwar is a village on the Western Coast of Maharashtra, India, about 70 km from Ratnagiri. There is an old Shiva temple at Velneshwar which is frequently visited by pilgrims.
This beach is quite famous for its location and also the peace, also for the clean atmosphere that it offers. It is absolutely amazing having white and fine sand.
Many houses to rent there we got one at the excellent location, facing the seashore and commanding a good view of nature. The amenities were just basic but sufficient and the place was clean. The rent was moderate and value for money. Also you will get places where you can enjoy homely meal. Overall very nice and calm place away from city life, one will definatly like it. Must plan a visit.

Velneshwar -
From Ganpatipule we left for Velneshwar. The Beach is serene but the water is muddy due to commercial shipping activity close-by.
The only activity on the beach is a camel ride.
The resort where we stayed was not that great, rooms were cramped, no Television, water taps were jammed, food was kinda ok. Well it was a disappointment.
Our earlier plan was to stay at Velneshwar for 2 days but looking at facilities offered at the resort, we changed our plans and checked out the very next day.

Velneshwar Beach My take!
This place is located near Guhagar near Chiplun Dist Ratnagiri. A small Hamlet situated on the west coast of Maharashtra. It's around 250+ kms from Mumbai. It took us around 7.5 hrs to reach here on bike. A beautiful calm beach to relax. Spend time with your family and friends, play beach volleyball and have your favorite drink. Don't expect water sports activity apart from swimming (that too at your own risk as there are no lifeguards) as this place is not commercialized. Perfect place to spend your weekend. :-)

its the day 2 and in this video we traveled to our 2nd destination Velneshwar Guhagar beach in ratnagiri district and it was an awesome stay and had a blast with the fellow riders.
Guhagar is a pristine beach which has just started featuring in the tourist map of popular destinations in Maharashtra. Guhagar is the first beach amongst the long stretch of Konkan beaches with white sand true to its texture unlike beaches north of Vashishti river.
Guhagar beach is a very long beach and extends for almost six kilometers between two hillocks.
Velneshwar and Hedvi well known for its temples are two other popular destinations within Guhagar taluka just a few kms from Guhagar town.
