Shepparton's Victoria Park Lake clean up on from October 13-16
The Victoria Park Lake is booked for council contractors from October 13-16 to undertake maintenance works and should not be used during this time.
A harvester boat will be on the Lake for three days to cut ribbon weed to limit the amount of the plant growing near the surface and pieces breaking off, washing up on banks and floating on the surface within the recreational activity areas.

Shepparton's Victoria Park Lake clean up March 2017

Greater Shepparton City Council will commence the work of ribbon weed cutting next week at the waterbody of the Victoria Park Lake for routine vegetation maintenance.
The works will run from Monday 27 March to Friday 31 March between 6am to 6pm. During this time, the Lake will be closed for all public use including boating and swimming, to ensure the maintenance takes place both effectively and safely. Other surrounding grassed areas will still be open and not affected by the works.
The process involves use of an aquatic harvester boat, which cuts the plant below the surface and through use of a conveyor stores the cut material on board for later disposal. The boat will be on the Lake for five days, limiting the amount of plant growing near the surface, pieces breaking off, washing up on banks and floating on the surface within the recreational activity areas.
Greater Shepparton City Council’s Manager Parks, Sport and Recreation Heath Chasemore outlined that the works are part of regular routine maintenance of the area.
“Council will ensure that the works are completed with a high standard and that fish and animals living in the lake won’t be harmed.
“Ribbon weed will remain in the wetland and other areas for its water treatment properties and animal habitat,” said Mr Chasemore.

1. Try to stay more than 1 night
2. If you come from Sth-West, capture the view long the way to Pyalong, many stunning rock mountains and valleys.
3. Before arrive Shepparton, visit some places: Mangalore Flora Reserve, Lake Nagambie, Goulburn Weir, Goulburn river, Olive shop/farm
Its better if you not feed the animals around the lake, so they keep eating the insects or other creature in there. Insect gives them more nutrition than bread. It same with human. You won’t eat carbo only, don’t you? When you eat bread/rice/noodle, you will put other things, right? Egg, veggies, meat, cheese, etc.
It is fun for us when connected with nature in here. Really fun, fresh, and relax.

WORKS UPDATE: Victoria Park Lake North Lawn - Shepparton
Council will begin works to improve the turf coverage at the Northern end of Victoria Park Lake. These works will commence 6am Tuesday December 1, taking around 4 hours to complete.
The area will remain moist for the next 6-8 weeks (depending on weather conditions) but it will still be accessible to the public.
