Free Walking Tour Through Vilnius!
* At 1:09 I say: 'to not leave you with any knowledge of the history' of course this is wrong, but I wanted to say: 'to not leave you with any questions about it, but I was like ahh you're gonna have questions anyways so I cut it out but the word 'not' was still in the sentence, anywayzz editing difficulties ;)
In this vlog I joined a free walking tour through Vilnius, which was very nice. The organization is called Vilnius With Locals (vilniuswithlocals.com) and the tour was about 2.5 hours. We walked past all the main highlights and heard a lot about the history of the city. Vilnius is a beautiful city with some great sights including The Republic of Uzupis, the Jewish Quarter and many more. The weather was beautiful so it was very nice. At the end of the video I give you a little summary of my experience in and around Vilnius, as well as the tourism level there.

But it was time for a whole new adventure! So I dusted off the magic globe and I summoned my energy to transport me to one of the most beautiful places in the world!
This episode was so much fun to film! Because I didn’t know to much about Lithuania I was excited to start exploring. As with every new city that I abruptly appear in I just start off by getting a feel for the area with a walk around.
In this episode you'll see me land in downtown Vilnius just beside old town Vilnius. Right away I got a good feeling from this city as I learned a little about the city, history and culture from my from Edgidusis who is from Lithuania ????????.
This video will show off the daily life in and around the city- I walk around the central square where tons of locals and tourists gather to hang out, eat and just enjoy the summer nights. I pass some historical buildings with a lot of cultural significance to them and they were stunning. And lastly in this video you’ll see me hike atop a mountain to a world know monument site of three giant crosses over looking the medieval city of old town.
Overall just a fantastic first day landing in Lithuania and I fully embraced being there and taken in the pleasant sights and sounds of a walk around Vilnius!

Walking Tour of Vilnius
14th July 2014
We did a free walking tour of Vilnius, led by a very engaging young lady, who took us to places that we might not otherwise have seen. It was a very enjoyable walk, and we ended up in a local restaurant, which was not bad.
For more about our stay in Vilnius please see here:

This is a video of me walking around in Vilnius. It is an amazing place to visit.
Vilnius,Lithuania 2018 09 01
Welcome to Vilnius
Vilnius (vil-nyus), the baroque beauty of the Baltic, is a city of immense allure. It easily tops the country’s best-attraction bill, drawing tourists like moths to a flame with an easy, confident charm and a warm, golden glow that makes you wish for long midsummer evenings every day of the year.
The capital may be a long way north and east, but it’s quintessentially continental, with Europe’s largest baroque old town at its heart. Viewed from a hot air balloon, the skyline – pierced by countless Orthodox and Catholic church steeples – looks like a giant bed of nails. Adding to this heady mix is a combination of cobbled alleys, crumbling corners, majestic hilltop views, breakaway states and traditional artists’ workshops – all in a city so small you’d sometimes think it was a village.
It has not always been so happy here, though. There are reminders of loss and pain too, from the horror of the KGB’s torture cells to the ghettos where the Jewish community was concentrated before being murdered by the Nazis. Yet the spirit of freedom and resistance has prevailed, and the city is forging a new identity, combining the past with a present and future that involves world cuisine, a burgeoning nightlife and shiny new skyscrapers.
A virtual tour around the sweetest spots of Vilnius
Vilnius is comfortable to move around by all means of transportation, besides foot. Grab a longboard, electric scooter or simply rent a good old bike and experience the freedom!

Vilnius | Lithuania Travel Tour 2015
Hi Everyone
It was my first time travelling to a northern country and decided to go to Lithuania. I've had so much fun meeting people and enjoying the journey along the way.
In my experience here as an Asian Australian it was obvious I stood out as an individual. It was the first time I've ever felt like this as I come from Australia being ethnically diverse entirely and to be honest it was a lot of fun. Not because of the attention I would get but it allowed me to adapt and experience something new within myself.
Here you can see where I've visited in Vilnius though my eyes and hope to make more of these videos as I am travelling to my next destination
Thank you for watching and feel free to leave any comments below ;)

Vilnius, In the Old Town - Lithuania 4K Travel Channel
Accidentally, we notice an announcement of a new opening right next to our accommodation, the Rentida Apartments. It is Theobromine Chocolatier, a tearoom in the heart of Vilnius. The name derives from the bitter alkaloid of the cocoa plant, the theobromine. Theobromine is structurally related to caffeine and has a stimulating effect like this.
Ursula insists on exploring Theobromine Chocolatier. From the young women in the shop, she learns that the manager is a Belgian. And so you can also enjoy Belgian chocolates in Vilnius.
The delicious creations, such as Strawberry-Basil or Mango-Pepper are made in the basement of the house.
The place makes a fresh, friendly impression and after a short tasting, Ursula wishes them a successful start and all best for the future.
We stroll through the old town of Vilnius, which has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1994.
At the northern end of the Pilies gatve, we come across a group of Spanish musicians, who entertain the passerby.
Again, we come across chocolate. In the AJ Chocolate Restaurant, you can see the chocolate room. The furniture and decor in this room are completely made of chocolate.
Afterwards, we visit the Church of St. Casimir, which was opened in 1615. It was the first church of the Jesuits in Lithuania and is designed after the Il Gesù church in Rome.
We walk south and discover the gate entrance to the church and Monastery of the Holy Trinity. In the courtyard, it still looks very original. Unfortunately, filming is not allowed.
Our next destination is the Gate of the Dawn, which houses the icon of Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn. It is a place of pilgrimage for Lithuanian and Polish pilgrims. Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn is one of the most important sanctuaries in Lithuania, Belarus, and Poland.
The Gate of Dawn was built in 1522. In addition, one built a Carmelite monastery in 1626. The icon came to Vilnius in 1652. Pope John Paul II visited Our Lady of the Gate of Dawn in 1993.
The coat of arms of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania adorns the outside of the gate. The national coats of arms of Lithuania and Belarus derived from this coat of arms.
