Visakha Museum - Visakhapatnam
Visakha Museum (Full name: Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation Museum) is a museum located in the port city of Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh, India which houses the historical treasures and artifacts of the Kalingandhra region. It was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh N. Janardhana Reddy on October 8, 1991, owned by Government of India.
Collections available for viewing in the museum include ancient armory, crockery, coins, silk costumes, jewelry, stuffed animals, portraits, manuscripts, letters, diaries, scrapbooks, periodicals, and maps. All of these were used by the early settlers in the region. Many models of warships, planes and submarines can be found here. There are many historical items presented by different countries too. The museum also showcases a search light reflector 30, the route of Vasco-da-Gama's maiden voyage to India and also the words of Nehru, To be secure on land, we must be supreme at sea.

Maritime Museum || Maritime Heritage || Visakha Museum | Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation.
The maritime wing of Visakha Museum was rededicated to people of Visakhapatnam by Vice Admiral Satish Soni, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Naval Command.
Speaking on the occasion, he recalled the importance of India’s rich maritime history and underlined the need for propagating maritime heritage among youngsters.
Vice Admiral Soni said that after the museum suffered heavy damage in the aftermath of Hudhud, meticulous care was taken to refurbish it.
The ENC Chief said that the museum had several interesting exhibits and promised to add more to make the museum one of the best places to visit for tourists as well as locals.
The museum, set up in 2004 on the Beach Road, serves as a source of information on Indian’s vast maritime heritage.
The maritime wing of the museum was renovated jointly by the Eastern Naval Command and the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation. Ship models of INS Visakhapatnam, INS Sumedha, and INS Kamorta, along with Indian Naval Sailing Vessels Sudarshini, Mhadei, and HMS Trincomalee, have been added.
In addition, a model of the latest Scorpene class submarine Kalveri is also on display.
The aviation section has been given a totally new appearance with the addition of aircraft models like Chetak and Kamov.

Visakhapatnam, in India, is one of the earliest municipalities in Andhrapradesh. The Gvmc (officially Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation), formerly known as the Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation, is the civic body that governs the city of Visakhapatnam.
The Vizag(Visakhapatnam) Municipality was set up as early as in 1858.The Vizag(Visakhapatnam) Municipality was formed in order to fulfil the basic infrastructural needs of the people of the city and was converted in to Municipal Corporation in 1979.

AMPM Live : తూర్పు నావికాదళ చరిత్రతో పాటూ ఎన్నో వారసత్వ సంపదలను నేటి తరానికి తెలియజేసే ‘విశాఖ మ్యూజియం’ నగరంలో ప్రత్యేక ఆకర్షణ. ఆర్.కె.బీచ్ ప్రాంతంలోని డచ్ బంగ్లాలో 1991 అక్టోబర్ 8న ఈ మ్యూజియంను ప్రారంభించారు. ఇక్కడ నావికాదళ చరిత్ర, ఆయుధ సంపత్తిని తెలియజేసే మారిటైం మ్యూజియం, విశాఖపట్నం సంస్కృతి, సాంప్రదాయాలను కళ్లకు కట్టే హెరిటేజ్ మ్యూజియం రెండు విభాగాల్లో ఉంటాయి. వివిధ పాఠశాలల నుంచి విద్యార్ధులను అధ్యాపకులు మారిటైం మ్యూజియంకు తీసుకువచ్చి విశాఖ గొప్పదనం, చరిత్రను తెలియజేస్తుంటారు. మారిటైం మ్యూజియంలో వార్ గ్యాలరీ, సబ్ మెరైన్స్, యుద్ధంలో నేవీ పరాక్రమాలు, సముద్ర చరిత్ర ద్వారా మనకు తెలియని ఎన్నో విషయాలు తెలుసుకోవచ్చు. రెండవ ప్రపంచ యుద్ధం సమయంలో జపాన్ ప్రయోగించిన తొలి 250 ఎల్.బి బాంబులు ఇక్కడ ఉంచారు. 1971 లో విశాఖ తీరంపై దాడి చేసేందుకు వచ్చిన పాకిస్తాన్ సబ్ మెరైన్ ఘాజీని తూర్పు నావికాదళం ధైర్యసాహసాలతో నిర్వీర్యం చేసిన చరిత్రతో పాటూ ఘాజీ శకలాలు మ్యూజియంలో మనకు కనిపిస్తాయి. మొదటి స్టీం షిప్ ఎస్ఎస్ జల ఉష ప్రారంభం సందర్భంగా విశాఖలో అప్పటి ప్రధాని జవహర్ లాల్ నెహ్రూ కొట్టిన కొబ్బరికాయను ఇప్పటికీ భద్రపరచడం విశేషం.

So guys Vizag is a beautiful tourist destination for all travel lovers on the bay of bengal,India. You can come either by train or air. City is facilitated with good public transportation and huge hotels to stay .
