Historical Hawaii 1940, Pacific Fleet, Lahaina. Pioneer Mill Company, Waikiki Beach.
This was taken around 1940 when the Pacific Fleet was anchored at Lahaina Roads off Maui. The beginning of the video shows a gathering of people at a park watching people hula dance. This shows a few interesting places like the Waikiki Natatorium war Memorial, Waikiki Theatre, Honolulu Academy of Arts, Hilo County Jail in Hawaii, surfing on Waikiki Beach, indoor ice skating, Lahaina. The Pacific Fleet off the Lahaina coast, Sailors having fun, the Pioneer Mill Company and locomotive number 4,, etc. Any comments would be appreciated. The Waikīkī Natatorium War Memorial—built in 1927 to honor the 10,000 citizens of Hawaiʻi who served in the First World War—is a one-of-a-kind resource; no comparable structure exists in the United States. As a place that both memorializes Hawaiʻi’s sacrifice in war and celebrates its indigenous swimming traditions and Olympic legacy, it is a site that is unique to both Hawaiʻi and the nation and should be reopened for future generations to enjoy.

The Happiest Place I Know - Waikiki
You come to a time in your life when you know what you like, and you like what you know. And for me, I like Waikiki. I go there to surf. I love to watch people. The sunsets are magnificent in the summer. There are wonderful places to eat and shop. You can see rainbows up in the valleys, and Diamond Head is always a magnificent landmark to frame the statue of Duke Kahanamoku on the beach in front of Canoe's surf spot. Kapiolani Park has wonderful playing fields for sporting events. We have a world class zoo. An aquarium. A war memorial Natatorium. An outdoor amphitheater for musical events. An outdoor Gazebo for hula shows and concerts by the Royal Hawaiian Band. Sometimes I wake up before sunrise, drive to Waikiki and sleep in my car for an hour just waiting for the earliest chance to go out surfing. This is what I like and where I like to be.

【パール・ハーバー太平洋航空博物館】(ハワイ)に行ってきました。【Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor】in Hawaii
This time, I went to Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor in Honolulu, Hawaii.
The museum displays a large number of aircraft of the period directly related to the Pearl Harbor attack and World War II. Of course, the actual aircraft of Zero-type fighter on board type 21 called Zero Fighter is also on display. In addition, even active jet fighters are on display.

San Francisco and Hawaiian Islands: 1939 Trip around the World (Part 1 of 10)
Part 1 features scenes of San Francisco, California, including the Bay Bridge, and Alcatraz, followed by the Hawaiian Islands, including dancing at the Waikiki Natatorium War Memorial and the Aloha Tower in Honolulu Harbor.
View all 10 parts:
Evelyn Reinhardt took this footage on her solo round-the-world trip in 1939. A history teacher at Southwest and later, Roosevelt High School in St. Louis, Missouri (USA), Ms. Reinhardt complemented her history lessons with stories and films (such as this) from her exotic travels to both Asia and Europe.
This particular trip satisfied Ms. Reinhardt's goal of traveling around the world before her 40th birthday. Indeed, she departed San Francisco, California on May 15, 1939 aboard the S.S. President Taft, and returned to New York, New York, aboard the S.S. Nieuw Amsterdam on September 4, 1939, twenty three days before she turned 40.
Filmed in black and white 16mm film. No audio. Regrettably, the film deteriorated significantly before it was digitized.
