DIVING WANGI IN THE WAKATOBI ISLANDS
The Wakatobi Islands have some of the best Scuba Diving in Indonesia. It was amazing to be back in this place. I did my first big trip here 8 years ago! The name of the island chain comes the first two letters of each of the four islands. Wangi, Kaledupa, Tomia, and Binongko. We dove off the jetty in the island of Wangi, the Wa in Wakatobi.
These islands are in the middle of the Coral Sea, on of the three coral hotspots in the world. (The other two being the Caribbean and the Red Sea) Here, you can see an amazing amount of ocean life. The diversity and density is unmatched around the world. I'd recommend staying with a dive resort or live aboard and spending a few days here. It's incredible.
Would love to go back and spend time diving some more sites!

And guys, don't freedive after you dive. You can get bent. This was shot over two days.

Wakatobi is the name of an archipelago and regency located in an area of Sulawesi Tenggara (South Eastern), Indonesia. The name Wakatobi is derived from the names of the main islands that form the archipelago: Wangiwangi Island, Kaledupa, Tomea, and Binongko. The group is part of a larger group called the Tukangbesi Islands.
The archipelago, located in the biodiverse hotspot known as Wallacea. It is part of the Wakatobi National Park.

The name of Wakatobi is an acronym of the four main Tukangbesi Islands ; Wangi-wangi/Wanci, Kaledupa, Tomia, and Binongko.
It's a non-profit short film that i made in several places in Tomia.
This was filmed on May 2013 and also my FIRST UnderWater Video.

105 - An Underwater Paradise in Wakatobi
One of the things we loved about Indonesia was the pristine water and the beautiful coral and aquatic life. And Hoga Island in Wakatobi National Park had all three of those things in abundance. Between going snorkeling and diving, it felt like we spent more time under the water here than above it!
During those few moments we were above the water, we were productive: trying new foods, getting dive tanks filled and separating for a guys and girls night.
