Students try distracted driving, learn about its dangers
Students at Central Valley High School got behind the wheel of a (non-moving) car to try to navigate a virtual road safely while texting or simulating being drunk. Their peers laughed as they tried -- and mostly failed -- to get through the course without smashing into something. The simulator, sponsored by Health and Human Services, is touring Shasta County schools to teach students how easy it is to have a wreck when they're not paying attention to the road.

The city of Tampa wanted to transform an unutilized local recreational area into a community gathering place with a new playground that honor the city's strong history with water works, ship building and pirates.
