Adoroble moment dog and koala share a drink amid bushfire crisis
#thirstykoala #Bushfire #ViralNews
The adorable moment a family's dog shares its drinking water with a thirsty koala amid the bushfire and drought crisis has been caught on camera.
The Stone family's pet dog Rusty has a regular backyard visitor at their home in Ashton, in Adelaide Hills, South Australia.
On hot days, Quasi the koala wanders up for a drink and to seek refuge in one of the trees in their backyard.
Footage captured by Danielle Stone shows Rusty happily greeting his furry friend at his drinking bowl to share a drink before the pair affectionately nuzzle noses.
When Quasi perches on the Stone's veranda, they cut eucalyptus leaves off nearby trees and leave them for him to eat.
Ms Stone said their pooch is always excited when Quasi comes to visit.
'Rusty doesn't mind sharing the water bowl at all,' Danielle told 7News.
'Special when you see something like this which is natural and unstaged.'
Rusty and Quasi's heart-warming bond uplifted the spirit of many commentators as bushfires continue to ravage Australia, so far killing more than one billion animals and their habitats.
'It's beautiful to see nature, our animals and fauna all being together!,' one woman wrote.
Another person added: 'It is sooooo lovely to see a safe koala.'
'Some relief from the heartache for a moment.'

Firefighters give water to thirsty baby koala and mother on Kangaroo Island, Australia
Firefighters have been filmed using the correct method to give water to a thirsty baby koala and mother on Kangaroo Island in Australia.
It comes as it's emerged that a koala that suffered minor burns in the deadly fires has DROWNED after being given too much water by rescuers.
The vulnerable bear, named Arnie, was saved from an inferno in Victoria's East Gippsland and sustained small wounds to his hands and feet.
However, despite surviving the wild fire, the animal died after being given a drink from a bottle of water by kindhearted strangers.
Coverage of the blazes in Australia, which have killed at least 28 people and an estimated one billion animals, has included viral clips showing animal lovers pouring water into the mouths of the stricken bears.
However, experts are now warning that koalas should only lap water from a bowl and that pouring liquid into their mouths can fill their lungs which can prove fatal.

*Please donate to the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital here:
It has been a terrible hot Summer with bush fire threats all around, leaves are no longer a reliable source of hydration for the wild koalas in our area. This is the (wild) Mama koala from the 'Mumma & Baby Koala Reunite' video. It is New Year's Eve and our Neighbour Tam, her children Cienna & Kaige (Cienna is holding the bowl) along with friends help out this thirsty koala. Tam says Mum & Joey have been permanently living in their trees and often come down for a drink.

Had a small road trip up north and found a great little beach break. The waves were a little hard to choose from as they would close out most of the time. A little windy and surprisingly hardly any people out.

Mooloolaba bar - sailing - almost fail
Happened to be on the breakwater at Mooloolaba and witnessed a yacht attempting to come into the harbour. But with a low tide and the constantly moving sand around the entrance they ran aground. Was a tense 5 minutes of watching their boat get thrown around. We looked them up a couple of days later, to show them this video. They were a lovely couple from Redland Bay who had come across the Mooloolaba bar on numerous occasions. So serves as a reminder that conditions are always changing and you need to consider your entry and exit every time.
