Ride through Riverstick to Belgooly
Riverstick is a village in Ireland lying south of Cork, halfway between Cork and Kinsale, on the Cork to Kinsale road. The village is named literally, after the River Stick which flows through the village. The village has a growing population; several large housing developments have been built in the area in recent years.
During the course of the 20th Century, Riverstick supplanted nearby Ballymartle as the major village and population centre in the area. Ballymartle is now little more than a crossroads, although some of the older institutions associated with Riverstick, such as the GAA club still carry the name 'Ballymartle'.

The Ilen Tour Open House 20th Oct 2018 Limerick Docklands
The Ilen is a 56-foot long wooden ketch designed in 1926 by one of the country's greatest sailors, Edward Conor O'Brien.
The ship was designed in Limerick, rebuilt by local people, sailed out of Limerick and has now returned to the city.
The Ilen, the sole surviving Irish ocean-going wooden sailing ship, spent much of her life as a working transport boat on the Falkland Islands before being brought back to Ireland in 1998 by Gary McMahon, director of the Limerick-based Ilen project.
The restoration of The Ilen, Ireland’s last coastal trading boat in existence, was undertaken at Hegarty’s boatyard at Oldcourt just two kilometres away from Inish Beg.Built at the Fisheries School in Baltimore in 1926, The Ilen spent seventy tough years in the Falklands transporting sheep and cattle between the islands before returning home to Baltimore in 1998.
The boat and her history is also part of an ongoing exhibition at the Hunt Museum, which looks at the history of the Gandelow boats built to work on the sandy marshes of the River Shannon.
