White House View Point & Taudaha Lake - Motovlog Nepal | Travel Vlog | Weekend Ride | Dominar 400
Short weekend trip to White House View Point and Taudaha Lake from Bhaisepati, Lalitpur with Theme Palace team. We went in 4 motorbikes, Sachet & Gokarna in Bajaj Pulsar RS 200, Amit & Sarvesh in Bajaj Avenger 220, Suddama Thapa in Yamaha YZF R15 and I was riding in Bajaj Dominar 400. It was one of the ride to remember as the place was really beautiful and the view from White House View Point is simply mind blowing. Short tea break and waiting for friends at Taudaha Lake was interesting as we got to visit one more beautiful place.
Taudaha Lake is a small lake in the outskirts of Kathmandu, in Nepal. The name comes from a combination of Newari words ‘Ta’, meaning snake and ‘Daha’, which means lake.
Mythological origins as mentioned in wikipedia
The Taudaha Lake is believed to be a remnant pool of the huge lake that once existed where now the city of Kathmandu sits. According to mythology, a Buddhist mythical character Manjushree cut the hill in the valley’s south, allowing the lake’s water to drain off, thereby creating land that was duly occupied by people. Folklore suggests that that “cut” in the hill is the Chobar Gorge, a narrow passage from which the Bagmati River exits the Kathmandu Valley. After the water of the ancient lake drained away, a few small lakes and ponds were created beyond the hills. Taudaha is believed to be one of those ponds.
When the lake was drained, countless nagas, mythological creatures that were half human and half serpent, were left homeless. This made the Naga King Karkotak livid. In order to allay his wrath, the locals living near Taudaha built an underwater palace, studded with precious stones and riches beyond imagination. The Serpent King was pleased and ruled his serpent subjects in their underwater kingdom. The king also promised to protect the humans living around the lake, on the condition that the tranquility of his water abode never be disrupted. It is due to this that even today locals do not swim or fish in the lake.
This lake is also a stop over for numerous migratory bird species such as cormorants, Ruddy Shelduck, Serpent eagle, common teal. It's very beautiful and peaceful place to be in weekends as it's very near to the city.
White House View Point is also know as Bosan Dada is one of the easiest and closest spots for short trip during the weekend. White House (Bosan Danda) is situated on the outskirts of Kathmandu in Chobar, Taudaha Lake. Once you move towards the top of the hill you find White house. You will find cottage restaurant and white doomed water tank in the greenery pasture land where you can see spectacular views of the valley and Kirtipur valley. You can hike, cycle or ride with optional roads to reach the top.

BOSAN DADA & TAUDAHA Lake Trip - Kathmandu Nepal 2017 with Narayan Dai
Bosan Dada is just a few hours away from Kathmandu and is a quick escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Taudaha, another landmark haven for migratory and all sorts of birds falls on the way. With its relaxed ambience and environmental significance, people from all walks of life visit Tau Daha with family and friends. Taudaha lake also attracts a lot of visitors and bird watchers.
We visited Bosan with Narayan Dai, an avid photographer and bird enthusiast, who's a frequent visitor of both these destinations. We met some interesting people and had a really good time.

At the beginning of the rainy season. Making it difficult to go out on long trips as the rains pour daily. Nice view to watch the thick, white clouds of mist cre4ep down the surrounding mountain sides.
BUNJUNGLE Adventures and Tarkeshwar HIKE Shivapuri National Park
We wanted to spend a good weekend with our team members who missed our last trek. Bunjungle Adventures, suggested by one of our followers in instagram, happycrafts_nepal, turned out to be the perfect location. Just a few kilometers away from Kathmandu Valley, this is the only treehouse concept resort apart from Chitwan and a few other places outside the valley.
And we must say, we were not disappointed. The ambience is amazing, calm and relaxing. Everything you want for perfect weekend getaway. Then there's the hike to Tarakeshwar Mahadev in side Shivapuri National Park. It takes about half an hour to reach there and the hike is around a couple of hours. Walking through the dense forests, taking in the fresh air, experiencing different types of weather within a short interval of time, view of Kathmandu Valley, we were exhilarated when we reached Adheri Khola Waterfall. Events took a drastic turn when we dropped our gopro in the water. Finding it after 14mins was the happiest moment and we all learnt a valuable lesson.

White House is just a few hours away from Kathmandu. The place is located in Taudaha, so basically you have to go straight from there and take a turn at some point.The road is fine but for scooter it's hard to go up. Motorbike can go easily. It is so up at the hill when you reached there you will see the Taudaha Lake so small. Taudaha lake also attracts a lot of visitors.

Hike to Bosan Hill | Short and easy Hiking near Kathmandu
A day hike to Bosan Danda (hill) just below Champadebi Hill at Dakshinkali Municipality on the south western part of Kathmandu valley. I started walking from Khahare near Tau Daha at Chalnakhel on the way to Pharping. After hiking to the hill top I walked through the village of Bosan nearby, which was quite pleasent. Views on the hike includes, Chalnakhel, Tau Daha, Bagmati River, Champadevi Hill,Khokana,Bhatkya Pati (aka Bhatke Pati), Kirtipur,. Mountain ranges from Gauri Shankar, Langtang, Ganesh Himal, upto Manaslu and some Annapurna mountains are visible on a clear day.

PAANCHPOKHARI Sindhupalchok, Nepal - the closest thing to HEAVEN from Kathmandu
#paanchpokhari #nepal We visited the beautiful Paanchpokhari once again, this time of Sindhupalchok during the festival of Janai Purnima. Thanks to our friend Phurpa, we were invited by Paanchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality, and its tourism and sports development wing. They have been organizing Paanchpokhari Half-Marathon every year during Janai Purnima and we were there to cover the third edition.
And wow, what an experience! From Shamans clad in vibrant clothes to pilgrims flocking the religious site, from the lush green grasslands full of colorful wild flowers to the breathtaking view of the mountains in the morning, from the friendly locals to one of the tastiest mo:mos we ever had, this was truly an epic experience.
Contrary to popular belief and because of the latest developments, it is now more easier than ever to reach Paanchpokhari.
