White Night Melbourne
Watch as Melbourne is transformed into an all-night wonderland for everyone to explore. From dusk til dawn, over 80 free events celebrated music, food, film, art and light.
With over 40 sites, more than 300 artists and acts by local and international artists, White Night Melbourne ranged from small intimate experiences to large spectacles. Melbourne's top cultural institutions, theatres, galleries, restaurants and bars kept their doors open to provide extra-special encounters in this nocturnal journey.

Amazing Moving Faces at WHITE NIGHT Melbourne

Captured footage of this crazy light display at WHITE NIGHT in Melbourne. Lights are projected onto the foliage of trees on the opposite side of the Yarra River to create amazingly realistic moving faces. Even though it's only filmed on my old camcorder, I had to share this with the internet.

In this video we share our highlights of the 2018 White Night, one of the largest events in Melbourne. It offers a variety of Music, Light shows, art and performance. We decided not to add music to enhance the effect of certain light shows with their own sound!

Explore the State Library after dark and experience the iconic dome and facade transformed by illuminated projections and soundscapes.

Location: La Trobe Reading Room
Ideation is a spectacular celebration of the power of libraries to teach, inspire and grow. It celebrates and reviews aspects of the world’s achievements in knowledge.
Audiences will experience a multi-sensory world of interwoven soundscapes and illuminated projections that explore the idea of the library as a terrarium of the mind, an ecosystem of imagination.
Ideation is a collaboration among four Australian artists journeying into the human learning inputs of eyes and ears, exploring how new ideas and perspectives manifest, interrogating the very nature of knowledge.

Join Ruby and Lilly on a magical adventure through Melbourne during White Night 2019. . This year three of Melbourne’s iconic park precincts underwent a magical transformation to host White Night Reimagined. Each park hosted their own theme; in Birrarung Marr (the Physical Realm) you could witness fantastic feats of grace and dexterity with works celebrating the art of performance. Engage your senses of sight, sound, smell, taste and touch in the Treasury Gardens’ Sensory Realm, and at Carlton Gardens, feed your soul and imagination with mysterious creatures and spiritual experiences as you immerse yourself into the Spiritual Realm.
So many amazing things to see and witness, our favourite was The Guardian, protector of the Spiritual Realm. It prowled around the park roaring as it went. There were so many other amazing performances such as the white Knight Messenger, the Swan Sisters, Heliosphere and Acrobatica. Plus many interactive events such as the Cocoon, the Waterlight Graffiti and Cluster. Hours and Hours of wonder and amazement!!

White Night Melbourne 2015 - A Time lapse
Feb 21, 2015. 7pm through 7am, Melbourne puts on a totally new face, and everyone comes in to check it out! I was there shooting time-lapse shots from about 6:30pm to 4am, went home and edited this up in under 24 hours. Massive cheers to Holy Moses Heartache for the music, you can hear more and buy it - go on!
Shot using Canon 5D2 with Magic Lantern on a static tripod, and 6D with Edelkrone Slider Plus and action module.

The White Night festival is an all-night arts festival held in Melbourne. This year was the first time it was held over 3 nights (Thursday, Friday and Saturday) and in winter (Previous events were in February).
While I have been rather scathing in my review of how Dark, Dimly lit, dead and un-decorated the Shores of the Yarra River at Birrarung Marr ended up being, the activities at Carton Gardens were fun to behold.
