AMT #1 + AMT #2 + AMT #3b + AUD #2 + SBD #1b Matrix Mix
To clarify all sources of this show:
AUD #1 - Prone to peaking, unbalanced stereo sound.
AUD #2 - Surfaced on March 8, 2017 as part of Black Sun Productions’ alternate Colour Sound Oblivion. Recording sandwiched by big blocks of silence. Includes pre-show audio. Prone to peaking during “The Gimp (Sometimes)” and “Sex With Sun Ra,” mix dramatically changes midway through the latter song, indicating Pierce ans Massimo changed the recorder’s settings on the fly, and the recording largely stops peaking from there. Two glitches on “Amethyst Deceivers”.
SBD #1a - “The Gimp (Sometimes),” “Tattooed Man,” and “Black Antlers” cut in, numerous little cuts throughout but especially on “Bang Bang”. Sound quality varies, due to continually changing mixing. Officially released on Selvaggina, Go Back Into the Woods.
SBD #1b - FageOner remaster
AMT #1 - 1-camera angle (amateur). Uses camera audio. “Black Antlers” cuts out, missing “Bang Bang” and “Amethyst Deceivers”. Officially released as Colour Sound Oblivion DVD #13.
AMT #2 - Segments of the first four songs only.
AMT #3a - Surfaced June 24, 2017. “All the Pretty Little Horses” and “Bang Bang” only. Also includes ~16 minutes of Antony and Julia Kent’s set.
AMT #3b - There are titles overlaid detailing the track title and date/location of the performance before every song. Cuts on “Sex With Sun Ra” and throughout; fades in and out between tracks 2 & 3 and 5 & 6, cross fades between. “Tattooed Man” a minute before it ends and “Teenage Lightning”. Unofficially bootlegged on 2008’s All The Pretty Little Horses vinyl/DVDr boxset.
Biggest and most complicated editing project I have ever done. My notes:
-Master audio file created from AUD #2, SBD #1b, and AMT #1's audio to use as video editing base. AUD #2 is used for the first five minutes to The Gimp (Sometimes), part of Sex with Sun Ra, and all cuts within SBD #1b. AMT #1's audio used on the latter half of The Gimp (Sometimes). SBD #1b used everywhere else.
-AMT #1 audio and video do not match - need to offset video to audio to sync. AMT #1 is 30 fps, and re-sped to 100.101 to sync to AUD #2 and SBD #1b, each frame lasts 0.033 seconds. Offset audio and video by 0.297 seconds to sync, netting a 9 frame offset.
-AMT #2 individually split between cuts to sync to audio.
-Removed sections of AMT #3b with subtitles, except for last two songs where no other footage could be substituted.
John Balance – mini-harp (egg cutter) on “The Gimp (Sometimes)”.
Peter “Sleazy” Christopherson.
Thighpaulsandra – piano on “Bang Bang”.
Tom Edwards – marimba.
Cliff Stapleton – hurdy-gurdy.
“Even an Evil Fatigue” tour, “Black Antlers” phase. The last “major” tour of Coil’s existence.
Supporting act: Antony and Julia Kent.
Final live performance of “Bang Bang” and “Amethyst Deceivers (Version 1)”
Coil apparently were excited to play in Fano again so that they could be by the sea and expressed disappointment when they found out that this Il Violino E La Selce Festival would take place in Jesi.
Until a flyer of the show surfaced on Facebook, all sources, including official ones, claimed this gig took place on 2004-06-11, NOT 2004-07-11.
As is recorded on all recordings of this show, the sound mixing started off terribly but by “All the Pretty Little Horses” became much better.
Before the concert begins, a blip from “Teenage Lightning” plays. Probably just a mistake from Peter.

Live in Il Violino E La Selce Festival
Jesi, Italy

Feeling: Shrouded
