Ludington State Park; maybe the best State Park in Michigan
Ludington is one of the best - if not the best state park in Michigan. It has one of the largest campgrounds, and perhaps one of the best attractions is the many hiking trails that you can enjoy.
The park is in a dunes area, on an isthmus between Lake Michigan and Hamlin Lake.
EDITORIAL CORRECTION: At around 3:40, I stated Au Sable river. It is actually the Big Sable river.

Marquette Memorial, Ludington, Michigan - REAL USA Ep. 82
On the banks of Pere Marquette Lake, sitting on a spit of land sticking out into Lake Michigan, is a monument marking the place near where Pere Marquette, the Jesuit missionary and explorer of the mid 17th century died and was originally buried. Although the exact site of his original grave has been lost to history, the relatively small parcel of land dictates that if the marker is not in the exact spot, it cannot be far off.

Nawadaha Falls. These are located in the Presque Isle River Area at Porcupine Mountains Wilderness State Park. There are several waterfalls along this river board walk, each with their own unique beauty. This is a great walk to take. Also out of this area you can reach the beach shores of Lake Superior.

Michigan State Parks 100: Southeast Michigan's State Parks - Part 1
The state parks in Southeast Michigan are in close proximity to each other. While each has its own character, they offer similar experiences, which is helpful because if one park is busy, you can try another one not too far away. We took a day trip and checked out five state parks. If you're interested in a specific location, here are the time codes:
Bald Mountain State Recreation Area -- 1:15
Ortonville Recreation Area -- 5:13
Metamora-Hadley State Recreation Area -- 8:54
Holly Recreation Area -- 11:55
