Windeck Castle stands on a small hill in Weinheim on the Bergstraße. It was built around 1100 to protect the inhabitants of the Lorsch monastery. It was hugely damaged in 1674 by the troops of King Louis XIV of France. In 1960, the ruins were restored, the palace walls newly erected and the donjon safeguarded.

Flying my new drone again on castle Windeck in Weinheim but this time on a nice sunny day.
The german city called Weinheim has 2 castles.
The one i went flying for is called Castle Windeck.
It is build around 1130 and is a visitable ruine today.

Sunset on Castle Windeck
On my first flight in 2019 i went for castle Windeck in Weinheim, germany.
Not only was this my first flight after a long winter unfortunately it also is a new drone on its maiden so bare with me.
The german city called Weinheim has 2 castles.
The one i went flying for is called Castle Windeck.
It is build around 1130 and is a visitable ruine today.

Die Burg Neu-Windeck, ist die Ruine einer Höhenburg auf dem Schlossberg bei 310 m ü. NN, einer Anhöhe südöstlich von Lauf im Ortenaukreis in Baden-Württemberg.
Burg Alt-Windeck
Die Burg Windeck, auch Burg Alt-Windeck genannt, ist die Ruine einer Schwarzwälder Spornburg auf einem 378 Meter hohen Bergsporn im Bühler Stadtteil Kappelwindeck, Landkreis Rastatt in Baden-Württemberg.

Ausflug zu den Burgen Windeck und Wachenburg in Weinheim. Beide sind mit Lokalen ausgestattet. Aussicht ist fantastisch. Man kann einfach unten parken und bequem hoch wandern. Zeit ca. 30-60 Min.. Im Anschluss kann man dann noch in Weinheim Shoppen gehen.

Well this is a little something different than my normal outdoors stuff. This past week I went to Weinheim Germany , where the company I work for is Head Quartered, for some work related stuff and actually got to check out a couple of castles while there. Had a great time with some friends / colleagues and drank way too much beer. Life is Good
DJI Mavic @ Castle Windeck 4K
Die Burg Windeck ist eine Ruine in Windeck im Rhein-Sieg-Kreis. Die Burgruine liegt auf dem Schlossberg oberhalb von Altwindeck. Die Höhenburg wurde als „castrum novum in windeke“ bereits 1174 erstmals urkundlich erwähnt, doch gilt es unter Archäologen als wahrscheinlich, dass sie älter ist, als dieses Datum aussagt. Ca 1km Luftlinie von Burg Windeck entfernt, befindet sich ein kleiner Wasserfall. Der Siegfall ist ein Wasserfall der Sieg im Ort Schladern in der nordrhein-westfälischen Gemeinde Windeck. Auf einer Breite von 84 m fällt das Wasser ca. 4 m tief. In der Panoramaansicht unten fließt die Sieg aus südlicher Richtung heran. Früher setzte sich ihr Flussbett nach Norden weiter fort. Seit dem Durchbruch wendet sie sich nach Westen.
Der Wasserfall entstand zwischen 1857 und 1859 während des Baus der Deutz-Gießener Eisenbahn. Dazu wurde die Sieg mehrfach begradigt. Die Schleife, die auch direkt unterhalb der Burg Windeck entlang floss, fiel durch den Durchstoß weitgehend trocken. Die Elmore’s Werke, spezialisiert auf Galvanisierung, nutzen die Wasserkraft und versorgten auch Schladern mit elektrischem Strom. 1995 wurde das Unternehmen an die Firma Kabelmetal (jetzt KM Europa Metal) verkauft. Seit 2006 hat ein neuer Investor die alten Fabrikhallen übernommen. Das Wasserkraftwerk ist noch immer in Betrieb. Quelle: Wikipedia
