Sioux City, Iowa, United States, May 11, 2013 - A 27-year-old man led a deputy on a winding chase through Sioux City’s Westside early Saturday morning before coming to a stop outside his home and surrendering.
James Vannabouathong, of Sioux City, was arrested on a felony charge of eluding and misdemeanor charges of operating while intoxicated, operating without headlights, speeding and failure to carry and display a valid driver’s license.
A Woodbury County sheriff’s deputy attempted to pull a car over for speeding, 59 mph in a 30 mph zone, on West Seventh Street. The driver turned off the headlights and took a series of turns before pulling into a driveway in the 1400 block of Myrtle Street, according to an affidavit filed in Woodbury County District Court.
In a dash cam video released by the Woodbury County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Chris Jansen instructs two people in the car to keep their hands up and approaches the driver’s side of the vehicle, asking for Vannabouathong’s address at gunpoint.
Vannabouathong admitted to drinking, Jansen wrote in the affidavit. A breath test showed he had a blood alcohol content of .208 percent.

Woodbury County, Iowa Courthouse Hosts Menorah Lighting
Wednesday night marks the first night of Hanukkah. In celebration, a lighting of the Menorah was held at the Woodbury County Courthouse.
Hanukkah, also known as the Festival of Lights, commemorates the rededication of the holy temple. This year the holiday coincides with Thanksgiving. Something that hasn't happened in hundreds of years.
The two though have more similarities than you think.
When they first came here and established this great country, one of the principles they founded it on was freedom, said Rabbi Yosef Sharfstein of the Chabad-Lubavitch Organization. Freedom to you practice as you believe, which is actually a realization of the fight of the Maccabees.
The two holidays falling on the same date isn't expected to happen until thousands of more years from now. Hanukkah ends December 4th.
