[TRIPofJHL] Climbing Three peaks of Woraksan National Park in Danyang
Locating in Danyang-gun, Jecheong-si, Chungju-si and Mungyeong-si, Woraksan National Park is a mountain park of Worak Mountain having many amazing peaks. I climbed up three of those peaks starting from Danyang-gun as a day tour. They can be exhausting. But, the courses are short enough to finish in a day. Especially, Oksunbong and Gudambong share the course until about 20m point from the start.
Oksunbong Peak(283m) - 1 hour. The easiest one. Downhills and uphills can be tough to speed up.
Gudambong Peak(335m) - 1 hour and a half. Steep climbing.
Jebibong Peak(721m) - 3 hours. The first peak is hard. Easy one hour after that. Due to the bus schedule, I came back at the point of 20~30min until Jebibong.

단양군, 제천시, 충주시, 문경시에 걸쳐있는 월악산 국립공원은 여러 봉우리를 가지고 있는 산이다. 단양군에서 시작하여 일일투어로 세개의 봉우리를 등반했으며, 경사가 심해 힘들 수도 있지만 코스가 짧기 때문에 하루에 모두 다녀오는 것이 가능하다. 특히, 옥순봉과 구담봉은 입구에서 약 20분 지점까지는 코스가 동일하다.
옥순봉(玉筍峯): 283m. 약 1시간. 희고 푸른 여러 개의 봉우리가 마치 대나무 싹과 같다고 하여 붙여진 이름. 초보자에게는 내리막길과 오르막길에서 속도를 내기에는 힘에 부칠 수 있다.
구담봉(龜潭峰): 335m. 약 1시간반. 물속에 비친 바위가 거북 무늬를 띠고 있어 붙여진 이름. 가파른 길이 힘들 수 있다.
제비봉(혹은 연자봉 燕子峰): 721m. 약 3시간. 장회나루에서 유람선을 타고 구담봉 방면에서 이 산을 바라보면, 충주호 쪽으로 부채살처럼 드리워진 바위 능선이 마치 제비가 날개를 활짝 펴고 하늘을 나는 것처럼 보인다 해서 붙여진 이름. 최초에 나타나는 높은 봉우리에 올라가는 것이 힘들 수 있으나 이후 1시간 거리의 난이도가 높진 않다. 버스 시간 때문에 약 20~30분 거리를 남겨놓고 복귀.
등산이 힘들경우 장회나루에서 페리를 타고 해설을 들으며 천천히 유람하는 것도 좋다.

월악산 - 충북 제천·충주 / YTN
청풍호와 어우러져 아름다운 경관을 자랑하는 월악산은 해발1,094m로 충청북도 제천시와 충주시에 걸쳐있는 산이다.
정상인 영봉은 둘레 4km, 높이 150m인 거대한 암봉이다.
따라서 영봉 정상에 서면 막힘이 없는 시원한 조망을 즐길 수 있다.
청풍호를 배경으로 우뚝 솟아있는 중봉, 하봉은 물론 소백산 비로봉, 금수산, 보련산, 계명산, 치악산이 눈에 들어온다.
영봉을 동서로 송계계곡과 용하계곡의 맑은 물과 넓은 암반이 절경을 이루고 있다.
월악산 산행은 덕주골입구나 동창교 매표소에서 출발하는 것이 좋다.
덕주골 입구에서 산행을 하면 마애불을 만나게 된다.
덕주공주의 전설이 전해지는 마애불은 미륵리사지의 미륵불과 마주보고 있다.
신라의 마지막 왕자 마의태자의 전설이 전해지고 있는 미륵불은 이런 이유 때문인지 특이하게도 북쪽을 바라보고있다.
마애불을 지나면서부터는 편안하던 산행길이 가팔라지기 시작한다.
이곳을 지나서 계단을 만난다면, 그 다음부터는 계단을 피해서는 산행을 할 수 없다고 생각하면 된다.
정상에 도착할 때까지 끝없이 계단이다.
중간 중간 잠깐 쉬는 능선길을 허락하지만 그것도 잠시뿐이다.
계단 오르는 길에 자신이 없다면 처음부터 지치지 않도록 천천히 쉬어가며 오르는 것이 좋다.
영봉이 눈앞에 가까이 보이면, 다 왔다는 생각이 들겠지만 여기서부터 다시 시작이다.
1.2km를 앞두고 암봉을 빙 돌아 가야 정상에 오르는 가파른 계단이 나온다.
시원한 조망을 감상하고 보덕암, 신륵사, 동창교 방향으로 하산하면 된다.
보덕암 방향으로 하산을 하면, 좀 더 가까이에서 청풍호와 어우러진 산세를 감상할 수 있다.
동창교 방향으로 하산하는 길은 울창한 숲길로 조망이 좋지않다.
중간에 한번 멋진 풍광을 보여줄 뿐이다.
울창한 숲을 따라 하산을 하면 월악산 산신제를 지내는 산신각을 지나 산행을 마무리하게 된다.
뫼악동에서 산행을 시작해 북바위산 정상을 거쳐 물레방아로 하산하는 코스도 즐겨찾는 산행길이다.
월악산에 비해 계단이 많지 않고, 경관 또한 빼어나다.
능선을 따라 산행을 하면 말의 잔등을 닮았다고 하는 용마봉, 월악산 정상 영봉 등을 시원하게 조망할 수 있다.
청풍호에서 바라보는 월악산의 모습도 이채롭다.

A marine cable car that recently opened in the city of Mokpo ran its first Chuseok holiday last week, with people lining up to experience the new ride. Nearly 40-thousand visitors came to use the cable car during the four-day holiday as it starts to make its name as a major tourist attraction.

The Mokpo marine cable car service opened on September 6th. At 3.23 kilometers long, it's the longest cable car course in Korea. Starting from its station in Mokpo's North Port to Goha Island, the ride takes about 40 minutes. Users can experience stunning views of the scenic Yudalsan Mountain and the Dadohae maritime park.
[Soundbite] LEE SANG-MYEON(VISITOR) : I've been to cable cars in Songdo and Jecheon but here is the best. The view from Mt. Yudalsan is just gorgeous.
During last week's 4-day Chuseok holiday, some 37-thousand holiday makers came to Mokpo for this new attraction. 46-thousand visitors have so far used the cable car since it opened. People have waited for hours to use the service, with lines of over a 100 meters long. Some people couldn't handle the wait and just left.
[Soundbite] JEONG IN-AE(CABLE CAR OFFICIAL) : The Chuseok tally exceeded our target of 5,000 daily users on weekdays and 10,000 on weekends.
The new marine cable car is revitalizing local tourism in the port city of Mokpo, located on the southwestern tip of Korea.

Cycling to Suanbo Hot Springs
This is a short 2 hour cycle of 28km from our hometown in Korea, Suanbo is famous for its pheasant dishes and natural hot springs; the water is brought up about 250m with a temperature of up to 53 degrees celcius. 복원지로 역할을 해왔습니다.

겨울철은 지난해 전국 국립공원 가운데
처음으로 마련한 풀옵션 캠핑장을 찾는
