Chris LeDoux Memorial Park, Kaycee Wyoming!
I remember way back in I think was 1991, As I was driving longhaul (semi) with produce heading from California to back home to Wisconsin. It was late one evening during the Cheyenne Frontiers Day Rodeo. Chris was talking live on air with a radio DJ. I was rolling along on hwy18/20 between I-25 & Lusk WY. Chris was telling us about his 1st time that he heard his name on Garth Brooks Much too young song. If I recall correctly, Chris mentioned that he was on I-25 real late one evening heading towards home near Kaycee. I believe that he was between Douglas & Casper WY. He said that he perked right up when he heard his name in the song on the radio! I sure hope & or wish that someday we may be able to find that audio clip if it was archived! Listening to Chris & the DJ live at the rodeo was realy nice to hear! It sure made my evening go by much nicer as they chatted for quite a while! From what I understand, That gave Chris a much needed boost to gain much well deserved recognition for his love of music making! ,.......PS: If I ever cross paths with Garth,....Dinner's on me! *wink*

Bella Vista: An Unseen View Of WWII (1995)
Directed by Kathy Witkowsky
Eight months before the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, 1,000 Italian merchant seamen were taken off captured Axis cargo ships and sent to Fort Missoula, Montana. The internees found the place so beautiful that they called it Bella Vista or beautiful view. They made their new home a model city, complete with small businesses, regular musical and theatrical performances, gourmet food and athletic tournaments. After Italy's surrender, more than half the internees were allowed out of the camp to fill wartime labor shortages. Some were even drafted into the U.S. Armed Services. Most were subsequently deported, but several dozen remained behind to settle in the region, where they have since assimilated into American life.

2017 Total Solar Eclipse from Borah Peak, ID [Time-lapse]
I climbed the tallest peak in Idaho, Borah Peak (12,667) feet to watch the total solar eclipse on August 21, 2017. It was an amazing experience that was also surreal as we watched the shadow of the moon approach us in the minutes leading up to totality.
Subscribe to see the upcoming video of the climb and visit anthonyfrabbiele.com for still photographs of the day ( also coming soon).

C-SPAN Cities Tour - Fort Myers: T.M. Jacobs, Almost Home
Hear from the diary of Civil War Sergeant Samuel E. Grosvenor from author Timothy M. Jacobs. Almost Home is the transcription of Grosvenor's diary from his time with the 16th Regiment, Company B, as they were encamped at Plymouth, North Carolina, taken by the Confederate Army and then imprisoned at Andersonville Prison Camp. Throughout 1864 and his time as a POW, Grosvenor shares his thoughts on the war, the inhuman environment of the prison, and the weather. Grosvenor survives the Civil War, and his time in a prison camp to be killed in a boating incident shortly after the end of the Civil War.

Talley Dunn gallery, Sarah Williams, Area Codes, 2016
In her first exhibition with the gallery, Williams presents a series of small oil on panel paintings. Each depicts a quiet, small town scene in the stillness of night, curiously devoid of human interaction. All of the works come from photographs taken at night of ordinary, rural sites around the Midwest with an early, first-generation digital camera. In her studio, Williams transforms these images into painted nightscapes illuminated with the unusual glow of street lamps, house lights and strings of holiday bulbs, all casting their glow onto surrounding objects.
The straightforward nature of the paintings is deceptive, as the works evoke different moods depending on the quality of light and context of the site presented. For example, Meadowmere Street offers a simple food truck with an amusing hula dancer form atop its sign, as the glimmer from the neon and service window lights illuminate the surrounding spaces and imbue the simple cracked lines of the street with a mysterious quality. In contrast, the isolated house depicted in Marine Drive glows with an eerie loneliness, its shadows filled with reflected somber colors that show the influence of American painter Edward Hopper. Williams fills her everyday tableaus of small town America with equal parts of mystery and moody reverie.
After earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from William Woods University, Missouri, Williams received a Master of Fine Arts degree in drawing and painting from the University of North Texas in 2009. The artist now serves as professor of painting at Missouri State University in Springfield, Missouri.
Williams’ paintings have been featured in one-person exhibitions at the Nicolaysen Art Museum, Casper, Wyoming; the Art Museum of Southeast Texas, Beaumont; the Galveston Art Center; McMurtrey Gallery, Houston; and George Billis Gallery, Los Angeles. In addition, the artist has been granted numerous awards, including residencies at Willapa Bay AiR in Oysterville, Washington (2015); the Ucross Foundation Artist Program in Ucross, Wyoming (2013); artist’s grant and residency at the Vermont Studio Center (2010); and the Muriel Braeutigam Memorial Prize from the St. Louis Artists’ Guild (2004).
In the fall of 2015, the artist’s work was included in New American Paintings (no. 119, Midwest Edition).

The cameras auto setting brightened it quite a bit so it lost a lot of the amazing affect but I thought it was worth sharing this surreal experience.
