This museum marks one of a turning point in Chinese history. After unsuccessful campaigns to wipeout the Communists, in 1936, Chiang Kia-Shek had a strategy that was working. As he was coming in on the revolutionary center in Shaanxi, he tried to enlist the help of two of “his” warlords, Zhang Xueliang and Yang Hucheng. Instead of joining Chiang, the two kidnapped him and held him hostage until he agreed to commit to joining the CCP in the “United Front” to fight the Anti-Japanese War. The museum is

Medical workers in Wuhan’s Jinyintan hospital are putting in long gruelling shifts and battling their own fears to combat a coronavirus outbreak. China has suspended all transport in and out of Wuhan, the epicentre of the outbreak. As of January 23, at least 17 people had died of coronavirus, and more than 600 infections have been confirmed around the country.

Chinese President Xi Jinping attended the state memorial ceremony Wednesday to mark the 80th anniversary of Nanjing Massacre. The ceremony was held in the eastern city of Nanjing, Jiangsu province.

Remember for peace: China holds state memorial for Nanjing Massacre victims
On December 13, 1937, after seizing Nanjing, the Japanese army carried out a bloody slaughter, killing 300,000 Chinese. This year marks the 81st anniversary of the Nanjing Massacre. China held a state memorial on Thursday for victims of the massacre in the east China city of Nanjing.
China puts Wuhan on lockdown to stem spread of coronavirus | DW News
Chinese authorities are attempting to quarantine the city of Wuhan - a metropolis of 11 million people that is at the center of the coronavirus outbreak that's spreading across Asia and beyond. The virus originated from a seafood market in the city. All transport in and out of the city has been suspended for the lockdown, as has public transport within Wuhan. Residents have been advised to stay at home. So far, 17 people have died from the respiratory illness and almost 600 cases have been confirmed across China.

Episode 3: Jointly Resist Invasion - The peace resolution of the Xi’an Incident broke Japan’s conspiracy for domestic chaos in China for them to fish in troubled waters. It also helped to achieve the CPC Central Committee’s policy to force Chiang Kai-shek to resist aggression.
From then on, the ten-year domestic war basically ended, and domestic peace was initially achieved. That greatly promoted another KMT-CPC cooperation, a turning point from a domestic war to a national war of resistance, and a hub in the changes of the political situation.
China marks Memorial Day for 1937 Nanjing Massacre
China on Saturday marked its first ever National Memorial Day for the Nanjing Massacre Victims. A series of commemorative activities were held across the country, including a top-level remembrance ceremony at a memorial hall for the victims in Nanjing. President Xi Jinping spoke at the event and he said that the tragic events of 77 years ago must never be forgotten.

There was Stalin's Soviet behind the Communist Mole too.
Even after Anti-Comintern Pact between Germany and Japan in 1936 , Nazi was still with Chiang Kai-shek who had already been with CCP through the Xi'an Incident of 1936.

Scam Town, The Chinese Village Where Nearly Everyone's A Phone Scammer
BMWs, Porsches and mansions dot Chang Keng village in Anxi, where just a few years ago, farmers in one of China's poorest regions relied on tea leaves to eke a living. But when tea prices crashed in 2011, they turned to a new business - phone scams. And it has become a fount of illicit wealth.

For instance, scammers impersonating Chinese officials cheated Singaporeans out of S$13 million in 2018 alone. “Some people say that the Taiwanese taught the Anxi people how to scam,” said Beijing-based crime journalist Suki Sun.
When authorities in Taiwan and mainland China intensified the crackdown on phone scamming syndicates, such operations have relocated elsewhere in the region - such as remote places in the Philippines.
In October 2018, after 2 years of investigations, a group of Chinese scammers were caught in Ilocos Norte, 400km from Manila. Police footage of the raid shows tiny cubicles packed in a concrete-encased building, where the scammers stayed hidden for months on end to avoid detection.

STORYLINE
An estimated 3,000 opposition supporters marched through the streets of the Taiwan capital, Taipei, on Saturday to denounce what they say is an attack on the legacy of General Chiang Kai Shek, the nationalist leader who fled to Taiwan after defeat by the Chinese Red Army 60 years ago.
Taiwanese President Chen Shui-bian and his Democratic Progressive Party have condemned Chiang for stifling the island's early attempts at democracy.
They say the late leader, who exerted a tight control on Taiwanese politics after his Nationalists fled the communist takeover of mainland China in the 1949 civil war, should have a place in history for his contributions to Taiwan's economy. Many held portraits of their hero.
The Nationalists - now the main opposition party - admit some excesses of Chiang's rule but say he developed the economy and kept the islands independent with a strong army.
They chanted slogans of Save the Economy, Stop Power Struggle and accused President Chen Shui-bian's Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) of launching the anti-Chiang campaign in order to rally its supporters in the run-up to presidential elections in March 2008.
Chen, who was the island's second elected president in 2000, has long criticised Chiang as an oppressor.
Chiang died in 1975, and his son Chiang Ching-kuo succeeded him as president years later. Taiwan held its first direct presidential election in 1996.
The ruling DPP has held Chiang responsible for imprisoning many of Taiwan's early democratic campaigners.
Chen recently called for removing Chiang's name from a Taipei memorial park dedicated to him.
A giant bronze statue of Chiang was dismantled in an auditorium in the southern city of Kaohsiung this month.
The protesters called on the government to instead seek spurring economic development, saying its mismanagement of the economy has led to a steady increase in jobless rates.
