We had a great holiday week in Ylläs, Lapland. Finnish Lapland, its nature and landscapes are just stunning. Downhill skiing slopes and xc-skiing tracks were in perfect condition.

The Lapland Experience Yllas, Finland
A short film of our fantastic week long trip to Yllas with Inghams.
The coldest temp we had was when we arrived which was -33 and the warmest was -10 but it never felt that bad.
During our week we went to a local Reindeer farm where we got up close and personal with them and even went for a ride with them. It was a nice experience and recommended for couples and family's.
We had the chance to visit Husky point where we took the Huskies for a 10km drive which was fantastic and defiantly for the thrill seeking sort of person a must do thing if you get the chance.
We also spent one afternoon at the Snow Village to see what they had designed this year and to bring back the memories of getting married there the year before.
The Skiing at the time of year we went was great, the slopes were so quiet the only down side was the odd day of strong wind which shut the cable car and the limited the slopes that were open.
The resort has a dedicated sledging area for those that want to do it while the slopes are open and that's located in the kids area.
Another activity which we did in 2015 was ice floating which was a great experience and if your thinking it, its not cold.

Pyhä ski resort has the best backcountry and off-piste skiing possibilities in Finland. Snowshoeing tours at Pyhä-Luosto National Park and along the big gorge to the holy baptism waterfall. There are a lot of things to do in Pyhä: Husky and reindeer farm visits, Snowmobile safari, Ice fishing, Lapland scenery, Aurora Borealis / Northern Lights, Amethyst mine programs.

Iedereen heeft er een bepaald idee bij als het woord Lapland valt, maar er zijn maar weinig mensen die er echt zijn geweest. Inmiddels mag ik tot een van de ervaringsdeskundigen rekenen want vorig jaar ben ik een week in Fins Lapland op wintersport geweest.
Het heeft mijn verwachtingen ingelost en eigenlijk meer dan dat. Als je op Kittilä vliegt liggen er twee middelgrote skigebieden op minder dan een half uur rijden, Levi en Ylläs. In deze video laat ik zien wat ik naast skiën nog meer heb gedaan. Conclusie: je hoeft je hier niet te vervelen.
