Queen- Live in Yokohama, 4/30/1975
Here's the second to last SHA show! This captures the performance at the Yokohama Cultural Gymnasium. The quality is excellent (With a good source filling a cut in In The Lap Of The Gods...Revisited) and the show is complete!
The band's performances are solid, and Freddie's voice is in very good shape, though with instability. Going through the songs...
Now I'm Here is great, with Freddie nailing the A4s, Ogre Battle has Freddie dodging the Forever MORE A4, but otherwise sings it well and aces the first chorus A4s, and then a unique change in the set comes. Father To Son is not played, and at it's expense is Great King Rat! It's a great version, with Freddie acing the A4s and embellishing the choruses, though he does some conservative phrasing. White Queen sounds great, Flick Of The Wrist doesn't sound too hot (Freddie drops the chorus G4s and cracks on Synchronize YOUR mind), Doing All Right sounds great, In The Lap Of The Gods is good, though Roger has some off-key moments, Killer Queen is very good, though Freddie forgets the words in the second chorus, The March Of The Black Queen is excellent with Freddie nailing the A4s, and Bring Back That Leroy Brown sounds good.
Son And Daughter isn't as strong as past versions, but it's good with a great solo, Keep Yourself Alive is good, with interesting phrasing and a good drum solo (Though Freddie cracks on the key change A4s), Seven Seas Of Rhye has Freddie cracking the second A4 and on BeLONG to you but sounds alright, Stone Cold Crazy is great, Liar is good with nice embellishments and an amusing improv section (Plus the jams are tops), In The Lap Of The Gods...Revisited has a few cracks but sounds fine (plus the piano intro's nice), Big Spender is decent but Freddie dodges the A4, Modern Times Rock And Roll is flying fast and strong, Jailhouse Rock sounds great, and the closing See What A Fool I've Been is excellent with Freddie being gutsy!
ENJOY!
