This is a very famous place to go and see the cherry blossoms....This name of this place is called Senbako.....
常陸第三宮吉田神社例大祭・神幸祭(おさがり)2013.10.19
“Omatsuri” means a ritual for worshipping Gods, or an event held in gratitude towards nature.
These include prayer for a bumper crop, or expression of gratitude after crop harvest.
You can see lots of japanese floats at the festival.
Mikoshi or portable shrine is a carriage for Gods.
Japanese people get around the Mikoshi and carry it on their shoulders in order to worship Gods.
Hanten is a traditional Japanese outfit with the Chinese character for the word “Name of a street” written at the back.
The Omatsuri of Yoshida Shrine is held in Shimoichi area of Mito-City for 17-19 days in October, 2014.
