Whether you are visiting for parts, sales or service, it is our goal to satisfy each and every customer, each and every time, without fail. This commitment to customer service and satisfaction has been one of our founding principles since Bill and Donalyn Green opened for business in 1991.
Bill Green is one of the pioneers of the RV industry. Bill started working in the RV industry in 1966 and in over 50 years in the industry, he has worked hand in hand with most RV manufacturers, suppliers and distributors. In 1991, Bill took his vast knowledge of the RV industry, left the San Diego area and opened a small 2 acre RV dealership here in Yuma. The plan was for Bill and his wife of 59 years Donalyn to sell trailers in the winter and semi-retire, enjoying their summers off. Word of RV World philosophy of customer service excellence quickly spread via word of mouth, and the amount of referral and repeat business soon made it clear that semi retirement was not an option. Late in 1991 Bill and Donalyn's son, Mike joined the family business and helped his parents operate it. By 1996, the small 2 acre facility had expanded to 18 acres and there are currently over 60 year round, full time employees here at RV World. Most of the employees at RV World have worked here for over 10 years, and many as long as 20 years. Our service manager, Bob Smith, has been at RV World since its inception in 1991. Although the business has expanded, the small business philosophy remains the same and has led to many honors, awards and distinctions in the last 24 years.
RV World now maintains an inventory of over 400 new and used RVs, all at one location here in Yuma. RV World award winning service and parts departments are open year round and capable of performing nearly any repair. Employees in parts, service and sales are factory trained and the training is both challenging and on going. As the RV Industry grows and changes, rest assured RV World will be here to help you every step of the way. If you are shopping for parts, in need of service or wish to purchase an RV, contact us today and discover for yourself the difference one dealer can make.

EXPLORING YUMA PROVING GROUND!
Yuma Proving Ground (YPG) is a United States Army proving ground and one of the largest military installations in the world. It is a subordinate command of the Army Test and Evaluation Command.
Report highlights hospital’s vital role in Yuma economy
Yuma Regional Medical Center (YRMC) contributes about $500 million worth of economic impact to Yuma County each year, according to the results of a new independent economic-impact study.
According to that study, prepared by Rounds Consulting Group, Inc., hospitals throughout Arizona are directly and indirectly responsible for more than 176,000 full-time jobs and $24 billion in economic impact. Arizona hospitals such as YRMC clearly play an outsized role in driving the statewide and local economy.
The report also measures the economic and fiscal benefits of hospitals on a local level, focusing on rural regions such as Yuma County.
As the county’s largest private employer, YRMC accounts for 3,858 total full-time jobs – including 1,986 jobs directly created by the hospital, plus 1,872 indirect jobs, which include organizations and individuals that provide services or products to the hospital itself.
Overall, YRMC generates about $500 million worth of economic impact.
“In addition to caring for the health of the people living in Yuma County, the economic health of our overall community means a great deal to YRMC as well,” said Dr. Robert Trenschel, President and CEO of YRMC. “This is our community and YRMC truly is this community’s hospital. We are devoted to helping make Yuma County an even greater place to live.”
According to Jim Rounds, President of Rounds Consulting Group, hospitals represent a critical driver of the Arizona economy, helping directly and indirectly generate 177,000 jobs and $24 billion in economic impact.
“Just as critical is the economic benefit created by these institutions in communities like Yuma, where the local hospital is often one of the largest area employers,” Rounds said.
Additionally, a strong healthcare system and access to quality hospitals are essential to Arizona’s tourism market and directly tied to the state’s ability to recruit and retain non-healthcare-related employers and economic investment.
“This report makes clear that Arizona hospitals are critical not only to the health of Arizona citizens, but also to the overall health of our state and local economy,” said Greg Vigdor, President and CEO of the Arizona Hospital and Healthcare Association (AzHHA).
Vigdor pointed out that healthcare stands as the largest single industry in Arizona and one of the few sectors that continued to grow through the Great Recession.
“Now that the economy is back on stable footing, facilities like Yuma Regional Medical Center are helping lead the recovery while creating good jobs,” he said, “generating millions of dollars and providing quality care to thousands of Arizonans in Yuma County.”
Yuma Proving Ground Three Test Centers
Realistic natural environment testing ensures that American military equipment performs as advertised, wherever deployed around the world.
U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground plays a vital role in testing Army equipment in multiple extreme environments.
Testing in three of the four natural environments recognized as critical in the testing of military equipment is managed by YPG.
Desert environmental testing occurs at the Yuma Test Center, located outside of Yuma at YPG, with cold weather testing conducted in Alaska at the Cold Regions Test Center, and in the tropics at the Tropic Regions Test Center, which operates in Hawaii and in Central and South America.

Bridge To Nowhere
This 800-foot-long suspension bridge spanned the Gila River when it was built in 1929, and was named McPhaul Bridge in honor of Henry Harrison McPhaul, the only Yuma resident who ever became an Arizona Ranger. But it was considered to be too flimsy for modern traffic, and when a dam was built upstream in 1968 the river was diverted and the highway was rerouted over a much smaller bridge. This ultimately proved unwise, as a flood in 1993 destroyed the new bridge while the Bridge to Nowhere, with its broad span and high clearance, probably would have been just fine.
McPhaul Bridge crosses only desert sand and rocks these days, but the Arizona air has kept it remarkably intact. It would have been a fine location for a post-Apocalyptic Charlton Heston film....

Boondocking with Friends at Imperial Dam LTVA (near Yuma AZ)
We met up with some of our friends just outside of Yuma Arizona for a week of boondocking in the Arizona Desert. We are all pretty new at the whole Boondocking experience and hoping to learn from each other. I dont know if any of us have learned anything, but we are all having a lot of fun and we are enjoying the experience of spending time fellow RVing couples out in the Arizona Desert.
The RV in the background is a Unicat owned by Pat and Chris the couple in the Red and Yellow shirts on the left. It is an amazing Exploration Vehicle that is truly designed for this type of adventure. We met them in Maine a couple of years ago and we have kept in touch ever since the. They are looking to explore the west for the next couple of years in their Unicat and all of its amazing features designed in to allow them to boondock just about anywhere.
Jeff and Laurie are the couple in the center front row, and they have a 40' Holiday Rambler with about 800 watts of solar and 5 Lithium Batteries (the sun is their friend). We met them in New York in 2017 where they spend the summer months and they spend their winters in Arizona and boondocking is something they both are wanting to do lots more of. They are currently working remotely but will be retiring in August and looking forward to doing lots more traveling and discovering different locations through out the west.
The Couple in the center rear section are Scott and Tammy and we met up with them last summer in Oregon and Washington and they are one of the main reasons we are in this area. They recently purchased a plot of land just outside of Yuma and plan to build their perfect winter RV site on it and enjoy the Arizona winters then travel & explore the cooler parts of the country in the summer months. This is exactly the same plan Pearl and I are considering, so we are tying to learn from their experience. Scott has a Blackstone Tabletop Grill and has treated us all to some of his amazing culinary skills with it and we have put the Blackstone Grill on our must have list of RV accessories.
Come along with us and meet some of our best friends on this video and I am sure you will agree they are all a lot of fun and exactly like the folks we all hope to meet out on our RV Adventure.
