Central Australia, also known as the Alice Springs Region, is one of the five regions in the Northern Territory of Australia. The term Central Australia is used to describe an area centred on Alice Springs. It is sometimes referred to as Centralia; likewise the people of the area are sometimes called Centralians. The region is located in the southern part of the Northern Territory spanning from the west on the Western Australian Border to the east on the Queensland border.

    The Araluen Cultural Precinct, formerly the Araluen Centre for Arts & Entertainment, in Alice Springs in the Northern Territory of Australia, is a cultural centre incorporating museums and a theatre. The Araluen Arts Centre features four art galleries. The Albert Namatjira Gallery features a large collection of works by Aboriginal artist Albert Namatjira, his family and contemporaries, and current works by Aboriginal watercolour artists. International and independent movies are shown in the theater, which seats about five hundred. The theatre also hosts live performances of drama, dance and music.
