In the summer of 2017 I visited Montenegro with two friends. We decided to do a road trip through some of Montenegro's unique National Parks. Not knowing what to expect, this country truly left us in awe. The hospitality of the people, the astonishing landscapes, and the lack of tourists were all pleasant surprises that made this trip a beautiful experience.
We started our trip with a rafting adventure in the Tara River Canyon, after which we explored the Durmitor mountains. The next days we did some hiking and visited the Tara Bridge -a true engineering masterpiece. We continued through the Biogradska Gora National Park, where we rented a boat and couldn't believe we were the only one on this cinematic lake. Our Montenegro journey ended with a visit to the Lipa Cave, Lovcen National Park, and Kotor, which is one of the towns on the coast of Kotor Bay.
As a bonus we made a visit to the Island of Miljet in Croatia.

Kotor Montenegro - Best Places to Visit in Kotor, Montenegro
Kotor is the star of the Montenegro coast. A person’s first look at Kotor always leaves a strong impression. It is located on the only natural fjord of its kind in the world and in a bay that has made the list of Most Beautiful Bays in the World.
Medieval architecture and numerous monuments of cultural heritage have made Kotor a UNESCO listed “World Natural and Historical Heritage Site”.
The Old Town is considered to be the best-preserved medieval walled town in the entire Mediterranean. The walls themselves stretch to 20-meters high and they’re over a thousand years old.
Kotor is one of the most popular European summer destinations at the moment. It has a little bit of everything for anyone’s taste and it attracts youngs, families and the older people. Carnivals and festivals are organized each year to give additional charm to this most beautiful city of the Montenegrin littoral. Perfect weather, crystal clear Adriatic waters, amazing natural landscape, rich cultural heritage and loads of newly open bars and restaurants – Kotor is a dream summer destination.
