Blackpool Attractions Vlog 10th March 2018

Join us as we continued our weekend at Blackpool with a visit to 3 of it’s less well known tourist attractions, The Horror Crypt, Ripley’s Believe It or Not and Coral Island indoor arcade with 2 tacked rides

We started at the south end and a we made our way up the promenade we caught a ride on one of Blackpool’s modern trams with its being £5 per person for 24/hrs

All 3 places are great and something to fill a wet and rainy day but there is way more attractions in Blackpool not including the Pleasure Beach but also Madame Tussauds was works, Sealife Centre, Dungeons and of course the famous (not visited in this vlog)

Ripley Town Centre - VIDEO TOUR (Ripley, Derbyshire, UK)

We decided to visit Ripley Saturday Carboot, then decided to stop by the town afterwards to have a look. This video was taken on a Saturday afternoon.

Ripley is a town in the Amber Valley borough of Derbyshire, England.

What’s going for it?
A study by University College London a decade ago found that Ripley, smack bang in the middle of the country, had the highest proportion of residents with English ethnic origins – 88.6% – with its neighbour Heanor not far behind. What makes the Amber valley, wedged between Derby and Nottingham, such a hotbed of Englishness is a bit of a mystery, but don’t come expecting ye olde Morris dancers and chocolate box mead drinkers. This is the kind of quintessential England not found in tourist brochures. Think instead of redbrick terraces, suburban piles with pillars and electric gates, smashing chippies, 1920s semis, the odd tearoom, a Premier Inn, Lidl, Wilko and Wetherspoons, and a Friday night out that’s a sight to behold. This is not Downton Abbey (though Newstead Abbey isn’t far away). Ripley is ordinary England, in the best sense of the word.

Well connected?
Trains: the nearest station is 10 minutes away at Alfreton: half-hourly to Sheffield (30 mins), or Nottingham (20-30 mins). Driving: 15 mins to the M1, half an hour to the Peak District, Nottingham and Derby.

When most people imagine the United Kingdom, they think of London, wry humor and polite people. It might seem unthinkable that Great Britain has some real dung piles among its treasures but these 5 cities will have you wondering why there is a “Great” in front of “Britain”.

At number 5. Sandwell
The available jobs in this West Midlands town are so poorly paid that the average resident has zero disposable income. The good news for locals is that Sandwell has a pretty high mortality rate, so they don’t have to suffer for very long.

At Number 4. Gwent Valleys
No matter which metric you choose to measure Gwent Valleys scores poorly. Crime? Check. Poor healthcare? Check. A-hole teenagers all around? Oh yeah. In a country that’s filled with coastline and rolling hills, Gwent Valleys has none of that. It’s just the worst.

At Number 3. High Wycombe
Petty crime and drug use are present; as is a low employment rate. The little money High Wycombe does have it spends on the schools which is great. Of course, that doesn’t do the average tourist any good.

At Number 2. Southampton
Southampton is simply filled with half-destroyed buildings blotting the landscape. To be fair, the place was bombed in World War II. That is a pretty solid excuse, but on the other hand, they’ve had the better part of eighty years to get the place back in order …

And at number 1. Morecambe
In the 1930s, luminaries like Coco Chanel used to hang out in Morecambe These days, Morecambe is more known for its dilapidation. The coastline outside the city is stunning, but if you’re being completely honest, coasts aren’t exactly a point of pride, and neither is Morecambe.
