It is bordered by Afghanistan to the south, Uzbekistan to the west, Kyrgyzstan to the north, and China to the east.     The Dushanbe Flagpole is a flagpole located in front of the Palace of Nations in Dushanbe, Tajikistan. At 165 metres , it was the world's tallest free-standing flagpole in the world from its completion in 2011 until the 2014 erection of the Jeddah Flagpole. The flagpole flies a 30 m × 60 m Flag of Tajikistan weighing 700 kilograms .It is taller than the 162 m National Flagpole in Azerbaijan, the 160 m Panmunjeom Flagpole of Kijŏng-dong in North Korea, and the 133 m Ashgabat Flagpole in Turkmenistan.
