Travel Lisbon, Portugal - Commerce Square in Lisbon
Take a tour of Commerce Square of Lisbon in Portugal -- part of the World's Greatest Attractions travel video series by GeoBeats.
Lisbon, Portugal is a wonderful city, with bright, lovely weather and a seaside location.
But in 1755, this city was a disaster scene after suffering an earthquake, tsunami, and then fire.
Most of Lisbon was destroyed including its Palace and the Palace Square.
The square was rebuilt and redesigned without the palace and given the name of Commerce Square.
This elegant U-shaped building wraps around the square, its ground floors and long galleries.
The Arch of Triumph connects Augusta Street to the square and looks out towards the Tagus.
Mounted here is a statue of the monarch who led Lisbon through disaster and rebuilt the square.

Lisbon is an illuminated city. The almost constant presence of sunshine and the River Tagus transforms the Portuguese capital into a mirror of a thousand colours - highlighting the city’s unique architecture and beauty.
There are so many things to see and do in Lisbon that visitors have access to a wide array of different experiences.
As we flight through Lisbon - whose history spans back thousands of years – we find streets filled with heritage monuments, and characteristic neighbourhoods where the city first developed and can still be experienced at its most genuine level.
Visit Lisbon of the River Tagus, whose riverfront is dedicated to leisure activities and links the monumental zone of Belém.

Cristo Rei and how to use public transportation in Lisbon | Travel VLOG Episode 15
A short trip by bus across the famous 25 de Avril bridge took me to the statue of Cristo Rei and reminiscent a little about how to use public transportation in Lisbon. After a short boat trip by a ferry from Cacilhas to Cais do Sodré we enjoy our last night in Lisbon with a few glasses of beer.

POV Walk Through Mercado de Alvalade - Classic Market In Lisbon
BRAND NEW!!! Check out my DJI Osmo Pocket Test Footage:
I think the worst would could happen to the markets it so gentrify them, like what they did at the TimeOut Market. Yes, markets have it tough but there would be effort be made to keep the tradition without killing the flair and feel of these old markets.
We loved the Mercado de Alvalade and we hope it will be around for a long time. If you're in Lisbon SKIP the TimeOut market and support the smaller, traditional ones! It's much more rewarding and healthy to the entire neighborhood.

LISBON: Tram 28 & Glória Funicular (Portugal)
The first tramway in Lisbon entered service on 17 November 1873, as a horsecar line. On 30 August 1901, Lisbon's first electric tramway commenced operations.
The current lines, operated by Carris, are:
12 - Praça da Figueira - Miradouro de Santa Luzia circular route (clockwise only)
15 - Praça da Figueira - Algés
18 - Cais do Sodré railway station - Cemitério Ajuda
25 - R. Alfândega - Campo de Ourique
28 - Praça Martim Moniz - Chiado - Campo de Ourique
The lines only operate in the southern centre and west of the city. Apart from the relevant tourist attraction, the lines are still very important because parts of the city can only be crossed by small trams. Tram 15 also connects the entire western river front of the city to the centre and allows a better flow of passengers with the bus system towards an area that still is not served by the metro.

The Glória Funicular (Portuguese: Ascensor da Glória) is a funicular railway line in the parish of Santo António (Lisbon), operated by Carris.
It connects the Pombaline downtown (at the Restauradores Square) with the Bairro Alto district.
The tram system is situated along an axis that slopes 17.7%, that extends from the Avenida da Liberdade to the Rua de São Pedro de Alcântara, crossing a built-up area of 19th century buildings, including the Palácio Foz and the Misericórdia of Lisboa.
The funicular includes two cars that operate parallel along two axes, that descend and climb simultaneously.
