Allendale is a census-designated place in Ottawa County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 17,579 at the 2010 census. It is located within Allendale Charter Township, occupying the northern two-thirds of the township, from the eastern boundary with the Grand River west along Pierce St., north along 75th Ave., then west along Lake Michigan Drive to the western boundary of the township. It is a part of the Grand Rapids-Muskegon-Holland, Michigan combined statistical area, and is an exurb of Grand Rapids, due to its major commuter routes into the city . The Gilmore Car Museum is located in Hickory Corners in the U.S. state of Michigan, and houses one of Michigan's largest collections of classic and vintage automobiles. Over 300 vintage and collector vehicles and motorcycles from all eras are on display in over a dozen vintage buildings located on 90 acres .Exhibits range from the early cars of the 1890s, to the Duesenbergs, Auburn Automobile, and classics of the 1940s, 1950s, and 1960s, as well as automobiles built in the Other Motor City - Kalamazoo. Michigan's Adventure is a 250-acre amusement park in Muskegon County, Michigan, about halfway between Muskegon and Whitehall. It is the largest amusement park in the state and has been owned and operated by Cedar Fair since 2001. As of 2012, Michigan's Adventure has 53 rides, more than any other park in the state. The park also includes an outdoor water park, WildWater Adventure. The park is headlined by seven roller coasters, including Shivering Timbers, a basic wooden coaster, and a suspended looping coaster, Thunderhawk. The typical operating season is from May through September.

The Meadows at Grand Valley State University in Allendale, Michigan, is the home of the Grand Valley State Lakers men's and women's golf teams. The links-style championship course was designed by Michael John Hurdzan in 1994. The course has hosted six NCAA National Championships since its opening and will host the women's National Championship in the spring of 2011. The Meadows has been explained as One of the first West Michigan golf courses classified as upscale, by Michigan Golf. The course is located on the northwest quadrant of GVSU's main Allendale campus.
