Bhangarh Fort real story | Most Haunted place in India
Locals and tourists do not stay back at the Bhangarh fort after sunset. It is considered to be the most haunted place of India.

We travelled to Bhangarh to see whether it is a myth or reality.
As per locals and villagers - They don’t come near fort in the night, as per them Ghost stays there and they have heard strange sounds in the night.
As per Tourists - Bhangarh fort gets scary in the night because it is not maintained, there is no electricity, animal, snake movement creates sound. While people are talking about it but they nobody dares to stay back inside the fort in the night.
A local village resident said that Bhangarh fort has been projected to be scary by media but in reality it needs maintenance.
Unique thing that I personally noticed at Bhangarh Fort:
At around 5 pm - I found many many monkeys inside the fort, we stayed back till 7 pm inside the fort, it was all dark. We started back for the gate and noticed there were many Langurs, not even a single monkey.
Experienced strange sounds, i think that was animal movement. Plus we were the only 2 people inside the fort at that time.
Story of Bhangarh fort, Alwar district, Rajasthan.
There was a Tantrik in Bhangarh who wanted to marry Rani Ratnawati. He played trick by doing magic on oil bottle of Rani. It is believed that Rani Ratnawati had knowledge of black magic, she came to know about it by looking at the bottle.
She threw that bottle on a rock and said - Kill the person who has done this magic. Thereafter rock rolled towards the Tantrik and hit him.
At the time of Tantrik’s death - he cursed that nobody will survive in Bhangarh fort and all the people will die. It is believed that immediately after that Fort collapsed and everybody died.
Tourists visit this place with a view that they may get to see some horror stories in Bhangarh fort or Ghosts but nobody seems to stay back in the night and belief continues.
We started back for Jaipur at 8 pm.

Rajasthan is a northern Indian state bordering Pakistan. Its palaces and forts are reminders of the many kingdoms that historically vied for the region. In its capital, Jaipur (the Pink City), are the 18th-century City Palace and Hawa Mahal, a former cloister for royal women, fronted by a 5-story pink-sandstone screen. Amer Fort, atop a nearby hill, was built by a Rajput prince in the early 1600s.

TOP 10 HAUNTED PLACES IN RAJASTHAN
1. Kuldhara village, near Jaisalmer
It has a story of its own. Around some 300 years ago, it used to be a prosperous village of Paliwal Brahmins. A village once populated overnight became a ghost town, those who left this place behind never to be head of or seen again. The ghosts of those who abandoned the place 300 years ago are said to still haunt the village.
2. Bhangarh Fort, Alwar
It is said that a magician had put a curse on this place and in ignorance of this curse Ajab Singh, the grandson of Madho Singh, raised the palace to such a height that the shadow reached the forbidden place which resulted in the devastation of entire town of Bhangarh. Local villagers say that whenever a house is built there its roof collapses. People have been cited saying that nobody had returned who stayed there after dark and the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) sign board put up there has in display the following words- Staying after sunset is strictly prohibited in this area.
3. Brijraj Bhavan, Kota
A Heritage Hotel, Brijraj Bhavan once used to be the residence of Major Charles Burton who was killed during the mutiny of 1857 by Indian sepoys. It’s said that the major’s ghost still walks the halls here.
4. Kiradu Temples, Barmer
According to legend, this place has been cursed by a Sage and whoever stays in this temple or in this village after sunset turns into stone. The place was cursed by a sage after his disciples were left to die unattended by the villagers.
5. Haunted Hostel, Mount Abu
Students have reported ghostly presence in the premises of the hostel at midnight. Also a tree near the hostel has been reported to be haunted and students are advised not to go near that tree when alone.
6. Ajmer haunted house
According to the source one of the colony quarters in Ajmer was supposed to be haunted by the spirit of 4 ladies dressed in white sari. The ghosts used to scare and assault people. After placement of Lord Hanuman's statue and performance of poojas the paranormal activities have stopped.
7. Jagatpura, Jaipur
It doesn’t attract tourists for its ‘haunted’ vibe as like some other places in Rajasthan. That’s because this unassuming place is a residential area. But the story that goes around is that at night, you get to see witches walking around the roads of Jagatpura. The descriptions match those of the witches one come across in classic Indian horror tales white dress, old, white hair hanging loose over the face…so, maybe it’s just made up story inspired by desi horror. All the same, it can be quite eerie to walk after night in these parts.
8. Mehandipur Balaji Temple, Dausa
It is believed to be the only religious place in India where live exorcism takes place. The first two chambers have idols of Lord Hanuman and Lord Bhairon, since the temple is dedicated to one of the most powerful Hindu deities Lord Hanuman, it is believed that his power can actually ward off any black magic force on Earth. The entire place is filled with loud screams of men and women, a must visit...
9. Chand Baori, Dausa
It is a great piece of architecture. Many bawdis have been built by Rajas and other Maharajas but amidst them stands a baori in Jodhpur which is supposed to be built by ghosts. If you ever visit Dausa do not miss the opportunity to have a look at this place.
10. Sudhabay, near Pushkar
It is not a ‘haunted place’ in the classical sense of the phrase. In fact, it’s where people come to get rid of their hauntings. Sudhabay certainly counts, atleast on one day every year, the day of the ‘Ghost Fair’. For on this day, you can see people possessed by evil spirits coming here to take a bath at its well the water of which is supposed to be a holy weapon to drive away the evil spirits.
