1. In 1962 Nelson Mandela was captured and arrested in the town of Howick and thus began his 27 years of incarceration. Mandela returned to KwaZulu-Natal to begin a new journey when he chose to cast his first vote in Inanda, Durban as a free man in 1994.
2. The world’s oldest and largest ultra-marathon, the Comrades Marathon, takes place here.
3. The world’s tallest bungee swing is found at the Moses Mabhida stadium (Guinness Book of Records, 14 May 2011).
4. Home to the largest shopping mall in the southern hemisphere, Gateway Theatre of Shopping, with a skatepark designed by Tony Hawk.
5. Durban Aliwal Shoal is considered as one of the world’s top diving sites.
6. Durban harbor is the home of the 9th largest harbor in the world. The modern Port of Durban grew around trade from Johannesburg. Today Durban has the busiest container port in Africa.
7. The spiritual leader of the Indian independence movement, Mahatma Ghandi began his political journey in Durban
8. Durban is one of the top surfing destinations in South Africa
9. The rickshaw (rickshaw) was brought to Durban, in 1893, by the sugar magnate Sir Marshall Campbell, from London. Ricksha pullers have been operating in Durban for more than 100 years.

Units 2, 6 and 10 are one bedroom units with two single beds in the main bedroom and a sleeper couch in the lounge, sleeping four people in total.
Units 3, 4, 7, 8, 11 and 12 are two bedroom units with one double bed in the main bedroom, two single beds in the other room, and a sleeper couch in the lounge, sleeping six people in total.
Units 5 and 9 are three bedroom units with one double bed in the main bedroom, two single beds each in the other two bedrooms, and a sleeper couch in the lounge, sleeping eight people in total.
Units 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 10, 11 and 12 have one bathroom consisting of a bath with a glass-enclosed shower facility over the bath, toilet and basin.
Units 5 and 9 have a glass-enclosed shower, toilet and basin in the en-suite bathroom, and a bath, basin and toilet in the second bathroom.
Units are partially serviced (no making of beds and no washing of dishes - not serviced on Sundays and Public Holidays).

It takes about 6 minutes to walk to the sea. Here is no sea view, although you can see the sea from Hyde Park.
Each unit has it’s own weber gas braai on the stoep/balcony. The key to open the gas is available at the office at Hyde Park.
Sibaya Casino is about 5 km away
Monkeys do visit the resort from time to time, and they can be dangerous, so please do not feed them and keep your doors and windows closed at all times.
