Krishnagiri is a municipal centre and the headquarters of Krishnagiri District in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is located 90 km from Bangalore and 45 km from Hosur. Mango is cultivated as the main crop and the land here is extremely fertile with rich access to fresh water making it amenable to growing crops. Krishnagiri is a rapidly growing town and is the site of significant business and residential development.
Krishnagiri is well connected to various parts of India through several National Highways:
• Krishnagiri – Ranipet (NH-46)
• Pondicherry – Krishnagiri (NH-66)
• Krishnagiri – Madanapalli (NH-219)
• Varanasi – Kanyakumari via Krishnagiri (NH-7)
• Krishnagiri dam - Krishnagiri Dam built on the Thenpennai river. Watch water being released out of the reservoir dam.
• Krishnagiri fort - The fort was built during the Vijayanagar empire. Steps are available to the top of the fort and the hills also house a Museum.
• Boat House - Visit the the boat house which is situated 8 km from the central bus stand and it also houses a children's park.
• Visit Temples - Krishnagiri houses more than 50 temples. Some of the famous temples are as follows:
• Kattu Anjanaeyar Temple located in outskirts of the town attracts many devotees everyday.
• Subrahmaniya Swamy Temple in Katnampatti near Govt. Arts College famous for Kavadi.
• Narasimma Swamy Temple in Oldpet.
• Navaneetha Krishnan Temple in Pudupet.
• Dharmaraja Temple in Oldpet is famous for Bharatham (annual Mahabharatham recitation) and Terukkuttu.
• Sivan Temple in T.V.Malai road.
• Thousands of visitors visit Krishnagiri each year.[citation needed] Majority come from Hosur, Bangalore, Dharmapuri,Vaniyambadi,Ambur and Chennai. The Krishnagiri Dam (Krishnagiri Reservoir Project Dam)is constructed in 1958 during the rule of the then Chief Minister Kamarajar is located near the town. Nearby, Sayed Basha hills has a fort that was the fortress of the ruler, Tippu Sultan. Treks to the nearby hills/mountains as well as farm houses are located in the outskirts. The boat house is situated 8 km from the central bus stand which also houses a children's park. There are a variety of ancient temples in the vicinity of Krishnagiri. Nearby Ramapuram is the site of a 500-year-old Rama Temple that draws many visitors each year.

This museum is functioning since 1993 AD, situated on Gandhi Salai in Krishnagiri. Historical monuments are preserved and exhibited here. It is not only a place of tourism but also a center of education. This museum collects the monuments, Classifies and preserves them to conduct research on its historical worthiness.The syed Basha Mountain is very famous for two Sufi martyr saints who had been slain in a battle long ago, every year on 10th of Shawwal (Islamic month) a grand celebration is made . Almost thousands gather during this Urs festival with devotion and respect.

Yelagiri is a beautiful place in southern India and is located among the hills on all sides of it. Its a beautiful hill station with pleasing environment and fine climate and the place is fabulously wonderful in the winters. Highly populated with tribals who are chiefly engaged in forestry, agriculture and horticulture along with all other occupations undertaken by the rural people.
A wonderful tourist place where one can enjoy the charms of traditional life in the lap of the mother earth. The path taking the roadway to Yelagiri is finely constructed and well punctuated with the milestones and signboards all way through. Petrol pumps are sufficient enough which makes traveling convenient and easy.
Huge plains can be seen from the ghat and visitors enjoy using their telescope for enjoying the ethnic beauty which stays spread far and wide. A little risk of the stray animals does persist but one can always enjoy a good time with the tamed ones. The difficulty which one would actually face is the lack of medication facility provided in these areas. So, when one opts for the hilly destination one is supposed to have first aid kit, so as to avoid any medical traumas.
It is a wonderful place for trekking and people generally love going trekking in these hilly areas. Full of wonderful temples on the hilly region, it makes it a wonderful place for the young and old alike. Temple bells add a special mythological essence to the bells and keeps the feeling of life alive even in times of bare silence.

Ambur is a town and state Assembly Constituency in the Vellore District of Tamil Nadu. It is located on the banks of the Palar River on the Chennai-Bangalore National Highway.
Ambur is home to a major part of India's leather tanning industry, thus earning it the nickname Leather City of South India. A few of India's largest and finest tanneries are located here, making it one of the leading exporters of finished and unfinished leather goods (such as shoes, garments, and gloves) in the country. Due to this production, the leather industry occupies a pride of place in the industrial map of Tamil Nadu and places it high among the rankings of the nation's exports.
It is also known for Biryani, a tasty rice dish; varieties of chicken dishes; non-vegetarian curries, etc., sweet dishes like Gulab Jamun, Gajar ka halwa and Mutanjan, a dessert in Muslim weddings after the feast, have become popular since the reign of Nawabs of Arcot.
The words 'Amb' (our) and 'ur' (place) together became Ambur which means Ourplace.
