    Amaravathi is a village in Guntur district of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is located on the banks of Krishna River in Amaravathi mandal of Guntur revenue division. The village is a part of Andhra Pradesh Capital Region, located 35 km west of the foundation stone of Amaravathi laid at Uddandarayunipalem. Amaravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh derives its name from the village. It is a heritage town and was the capital of the Satavahana Kingdom.
