Raqqa , also called Raqa, Rakka and Al-Raqqah, is a city in Syria located on the northeast bank of the Euphrates River, about 160 kilometres east of Aleppo. It is located 40 kilometres east of the Tabqa Dam, Syria's largest dam. The Hellenistic, Roman, and Byzantine city and bishopric Callinicum was the capital of the Abbasid Caliphate between 796 and 809, under the reign of Harun al-Rashid. Archaeological sites-Syria Sergiopolis & Church of Qalb Loza

This video shows an archaeological site near Ar-Raqqa city.
The first half of the video shows Sergiopolis (Rasafa). It's a Christian city has amazing 4th and 5th century Syrian churches and art and has the ruins of the Basilica of St Sergius. Rassafa's northern gate is described as the best preserved products of Byzantine architecture. The second half shows the 6th century Church of Qalb Loza (the church of the Holy Trinity) near St Symeon the Stylite monastery in the dead cities near Aleppo.
