Argenteuil is a commune in the northwestern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 12.3 km from the center of Paris. Argenteuil is a sub-prefecture of the Val-d'Oise department, the seat of the arrondissement of Argenteuil. Argenteuil is the second most populous commune in the suburbs of Paris and the most populous one in the Val-d'Oise department, although it is not its prefecture, which is shared between the communes of Cergy and Pontoise. Argenteul share borders with communes in 3 departements others than Val d'Oise : the Yvelines, Hauts-de-Seine and Seine-Saint-Denis departements.

The Basilica of Saint Denis is a large medieval abbey church in the city of Saint-Denis, now a northern suburb of Paris. The building is of unique importance historically and architecturally as its choir, completed in 1144, shows the first use of all of the elements of Gothic architecture. The site originated as a Gallo-Roman cemetery in late Roman times. The archeological remains still lie beneath the cathedral; the people buried there seem to have had a faith that was a mix of Christian and pre-Christian beliefs and practices. Around 475 St. Genevieve purchased some land and built Saint-Denys de la Chapelle. Parc Astérix is a theme amusement park in France, based on the comic book series Asterix . With two million visitors yearly, Parc Asterix is the second theme park near Paris after Disneyland and its 11 million visitors yearly. It is situated approximately 35 km north of Paris, 32 km from Disneyland Paris and 20 km from the historic Château de Chantilly, in the commune of Plailly, in the département of Oise. Opened in 1989, the park is operated by Compagnie des Alpes. It is especially well known in France for its large variety of roller coasters , and has begun incorporating rides and themes from historic cultures such as the Gauls, the Romans, the ancient Greeks and recently the Egyptians, but always in the visual style of the stories.

The Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte is a baroque French château located in Maincy, near Melun, 55 kilometres southeast of Paris in the Seine-et-Marne département of France. Built between 1658 to 1661 for Nicolas Fouquet, Marquis de Belle Île, Viscount of Melun and Vaux, the superintendent of finances of Louis XIV, the château was an influential work of architecture in mid-17th-century Europe. At Vaux-le-Vicomte, the architect Louis Le Vau, the landscape architect André le Nôtre, and the painter-decorator Charles Le Brun worked together on a large-scale project for the first time. Their collaboration marked the beginning of the Louis XIV style combining architecture, interior design and landscape design. The garden's pronounced visual axis is an example of this style.

Welcome to another international edition of the Tour everyone, and welcome to our final stop in Europe for our Christmas adventure - Paris, France! This video starts at London Heathrow Airport with us trying out a couple cask ales at the Crowns Rivers pub, a fine Wetherspoon's establishment in Terminal 5! Then, after arriving in Paris, we show the view from our hotel room - amazing! After this, we go to the Notre Dame de Paris, better known as the beautiful cathedral right on Île de la Cité. Finally, after a few views across the city, we are at the Christmas market enjoy a fine kebab to cap off a great day in this wonderful city - enjoy the video!

Paris n'existe pas

Que París no existe ya se sabe. Nosotros sólo queríamos subrayarlo robándole el hermoso título a la obra de Paul-Ernest de Rattier y al posterior filme de Robert Benayoun.

Ni existe la Tour Eiffel, ni existe Montmartre. Ni existe el Sacré Coeur, ni existe el Moulin Rouge... ni la Ciudad de la Luz, ni la Revolución Francesa.

La realidad de París y la historia de Francia forman parte de un sueño colectivo abrumador. Por eso todos queremos viajar a París, porque no existe.

This rather narrow, long street in Paris begins around the Cimitière de L'Est (known as Père Lachaise Cemetery). Schmatta, repair shops, a mix of building types. In the center of the street, you can see the Tour Montparnasse to the South, in the distance.

The reason such a big cemetery was possible was because this was quite a wildnerness until fairly recent history, so a good place for a cemetery and potential health problems.

Do not fail to visit the cemetery. It is one of the great landmarks of Paris, and many famous tombs are here. Look for Isadora Duncan, Abelard and Helöise, Nerval, and the former resting place of Jim Morrison.
