It is situated 94 minutes south of Taupo on State Highway One, on the southern side of the small military town of Waiouru. A bit of mucking around at Wanganui until an escape plan is hatched and I head south via Turakina, diverting to Marton and then Feilding. There's a couple of minor diversions as I visit people and take a nosey around various places. Trip distance is about 60 km.
