Amihan Beach Cabanas in Bantayan Island | Beautiful Beach Resorts in the Philippines
Amihan Beach Cabanas is a 3 star beach resort in Bantayan Island in the north of Cebu Philippines. It is only a small resort with 6 cabanas and is located right on the beautiful beaches surrounding Santa Fe. Bantayan Island has some of the most gorgeous beaches in the Philippines, and makes for a wonderful tropical holiday getaway. The island isn’t so commercialised so makes a great alternative to Boracay (particularly with the closure of the island at time of making this video). If you plan on taking a holiday in the Philippines and want a laid back island, Bantayan is one of favourite islands to visit in the Philippines. With the exception of Holy Week (Easter) it isn’t as crowded as other places.
Room rates at Amihan Beach Cabanas start from around 3200 PHP with the partial sea view rooms. Expect to pay a lot more during Holy Week when resort rates in Bantayan Island can triple in price. Have a look at sites such as Trivago, Hotelscombined, Agoda, Tripadvisor for rates at this resort. Also check out their own website. I have listed these in the video. The cabanas come either with fan or air conditioning, the later costing an extra 500 PHP for the privilege. Each room comes with satellite TV, mini bar, mosquito net and the showers in the bathroom came with hot and cold water. For 3 star, the rooms are generally well kept and clean. The resort has its own restaurant with is open to allow the refreshing winds to blow. I only had breakfast here and it was fine.
The beach out the front of Amihan Beach Resort is just beautiful, great for swimming or relaxing by. Around April (during the dry season), the waters are this amazing turquoise colour. All the resorts around Santa Fe basically enjoy this stretch of white sandy beach. As I have mentioned in the video, during this time the winds tend to blow on this side of the island, so you do get a bit more waves and seaweed on the beach. It’s not a huge deal, but you can notice the difference if you walk around the beach to the other side of the island that is more protected by these winds. Again you can see my video and see how calm and flat the waters are on this side of the island (around Kota Resort, Budyong and Yooneek Resort and the smaller resorts past here).
For me I found the resort a nice place to stay in Bantayan Island, while not the best, I still would recommend it. For the full review of Amihan Beach Resort please watch the video.
For services, the resort offers airport pick up, free Wi-Fi, daily housekeeping and free transfer from the pier and back. For other activities you could try some kitesurfing, stand up paddling, take a island hopping trip or rent a motorbike.
For other top resorts in Bantayan Island please check out my channel for other reviews of beach resorts. I’ve done a lot of other videos on this island including things to do a see. There are some great island hopping opportunities to the beautiful Virgin Island.
