Of its 3 sections, the top one is the tallest, at 83 m . It is located 7.7 km from Terni, a provincial capital of the Italian region of Umbria. Its source is a portion of the waters of the river Velino , after flowing through Piediluco lake near the community of Marmore. It pours into the valley below formed by the river Nera. Its flow is turned on and off according to a published schedule, to satisfy the needs of tourists and the power company alike. Giardino dei TarocchiPescia Fiorentina The Tarot Garden is a sculpture garden based on the esoteric tarot, created by the French artist Niki de Saint Phalle in Pescia Fiorentina, località Garavicchio, in the municipality of Capalbio, province of Grosseto, Tuscany, Italy. The park was opened to the public in 1998. Niki de Saint Phalle, inspired by Antoni Gaudí´s Parc Güell in Barcelona, and Parco dei Mostri in Bomarzo, as well as Palais Idéal by Ferdinand Cheval, and Watts Towers by Simon Rodia, decided to make something similar in design for her monumental sculpture park based on the Tarot. In 1979, she acquired some land on top of an Etruscan ruin in Garavicchio, Tuscany, about 100 km north-west of Rome along the coast. Drive to Val D'Orcia and Bagni San Filippo Thermal Baths| Day 9 - Two Weeks in Italy
Today was our second and final full day driving around the Tuscan countryside, and it was spent with some incredible friends! We sought out a tiny, yet iconic, Tuscan chapel, checked out Montepulciano, and battled some pretty serious storms as we set out to conquer a tuscan hot spring.

Il paradiso nascosto dei Bagni San Filippo, le terme naturali nel cuore della Val d’Orcia in Toscana
I Bagni San Filippo sono una medicina per il corpo e per l’anima, un luogo incantato nel cuore verde della Toscana. In Val d’Orcia, in provincia di Siena, c’è un rifugio naturale per chi fugge da stress e preoccupazioni. Le terme prendono il nome dall’omonimo paesino di Bagni San Filippo, e si trovano alle pendici del monte Amiata montagna da sempre famosa per le sue acque curative.Le terme erano infatti note già ai tempi dei romani come testimoniano i diversi ritrovamenti archeologici nella zona. Fu sotto la famiglia dei Medici che divennero grande sito di interesse: Lorenzo il Magnifico in persona le visitò nel 1485, e il Granduca Ferdinando II venne qui nel 1635 per liberarsi di un fastidioso “mal di capo”. Le particolari proprietà di cementazione delle acque di San Filippo furono utilizzate poi dall’architetto toscano Leonardo de Vegni, che inventò così la plastica dei tartari nel XVIII secolo, una tecnica con la quale realizzò apprezzatissime opere d’arte. I bagni sono anche una zona di interesse naturalistico: le formazioni rocciose cambiano colore a seconda della stagione, e passano dal bianco pallido della calda estate al marroncino verdastro dell’inverno ricco di piogge. La roccia più grande e famosa è la Balena Bianca, così chiamata per la formazione calcarea che ricorda la bocca di una balena.

The Val d'Orcia in Tuscany, Italy, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most beautiful parts of Italy. A large valley area covering thousands of hectares, it contains several towns including the separate World Heritage site of Pienza. Famous for it's gorgeous wheat fields, it's also well known for wines, pecorino cheese, salami, and of course, olives. Join me as I take in the sights and sunshine of this gorgeous part of the world!

Niespełna 30 km na południe od Pienzy, u stóp wygasłego wulkanu Monte Amiata przycupnęło małe miasteczko o nazwie Bagni San Filippo. Nie byłoby w nim niczego niezwykłego, gdyby nie rzeczka płynąca w pobliskim lesie. Do rzeczki tej wpływa gorąca woda geotermalna tworząc uprzednio białą kaskadę zwaną Fosso Bianco, z licznymi basenami, w których bezpłatnie zażywać można gorących, zdrowotnych kąpieli. Considerate che ogni località dista dall'altra non più di mezz'ora in auto, e le strade tra un posto e l'altro offrono dei panorami e degli scorci spaziali...quindi godetevi pure il viaggio on the road! :)
