Places to see in ( Andalusia - Spain ) Palacio de Jabalquinto
The palace of Jabalquinto is a building of civil architecture located intramuros in the city of Baeza ( Jaén ) and one of the most outstanding patrimonial symbols of the same and of the Señorío and later Marquesado de Jabalquinto . He is currently part of the Antonio Machado headquarters of the Universidad Internacional de Andalucía . It is part of the monumental Renaissance set of Baeza, which together with that of Ubeda , was declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 2003 .
It was ordered to build in the second half of the s. XV by the lord of Jabalquinto D. Juan Alfonso de Benavides Manrique, the Famous Captain of Lorca (second cousin of King D. Fernando el Católico ) married to Dona Beatriz de Valencia Bracamonte; the first-born of both, D. Manuel, married Dona Luisa Manrique, daughter of the celebrated poet Jorge Manrique . In 1637 , the heiress of the House , Dona Isabel de Benavides, marquise de Jabalquinto, married the Count of Benavente Antonio Alonso Pimentel de Quiñones, joining both titles.
In 1720 , at the request of the Seminary of San Felipe Neri and for its extension, the counts ceded the palace, reserving the right, they and their successors, to have a room when they came to Baeza, a seat indicated in the chapel, and respect for building coats of arms. In 1836 the State of the property was confiscated, transferring it again to the Seminary in 1853 . The palace continued to be used as a Minor Seminary of the diocese of Jaén until its extinction in 1969, and its subsequent conversion by the diocese in Colegio Menor during the 1970s. XX. Meanwhile, in 1931, it had been declared a historical-artistic monument .

Úbeda (Jaén) Spain - Plaza Vázquez de Molina, UNESCO World Heritage site inspiration
Fascinating Plaza Vázquez de Molina contains so many unique buildings that it was one of the major reasons for the entire town of Úbeda (Jaén), Spain being declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2003.
We did an overnight stay in this wonderful town, located in the region of Spain known as Andalucia. The Plaza Vázquez de Molina was just one of many highlights we enjoyed while there. The plaza contains the following architectural beauties: Deán Ortega Palace (Palacio del Deán Ortega, a Renaissance palace from the 16th century; Vázquez de Molina Palace (Palacio de Vázquez de Molina), another building in the Renaissance style aka the Palace of the Chains (Palacio de las Cadenas). Both of these buildings were designed by the architect Andrés de Vandelvira.
Also located in the plaza are Saint Mary of the Royal Alcázares [Royal Palace] (Iglesia de Santa María de los Reales Alcázares) and
Holy Chapel of the Savior (Sacra Capilla del Salvador).
As is our custom, I do all of the still photography, choose the music, edit everything and upload it to You Tube, while Ed does the great narrations as he films the camcorder videos.
