We loved our time in Santa Teresa, Costa Rica! It is a beautiful surf town with lots of places to surf at for all different levels! We also love the fact that it is not overcrowded with tourists, and we found a lot of spots that we had to ourselves or shared with a few people.
Santa Teresa, Costa Rica is one of those places that we would want to go back to over and over again. So we strongly suggest for you to come here on your next Costa Rica vacation!

Hello Everyone. Thank you for stoping by our website in search of your Perfect Surf Vacation. Here is the situation on Surfing in Costa Rica. The whole country has awesome surf and many people choose Jaco Beach as their main hub when traveling to Costa Rica to surf, reason being, Jaco Beach Costa Rica is situated in a perfect location. There is Great Mellow Surf right out front, 5 minutes to the south we have Playa Hermosa which is one of the heaviest beach breaks int he country, 10 minutes past that we have Playa Esterillos which is a killer beach break with a nice long board wave on the way out side over a reef. Another hour south or so, give or take, we have one of the best waves in the world. That is all we will say about that. Going North from Jaco beach we first run into los Suenos Harbor which has a killer left hand wrapping runner across this beautiful jungle beac h, then we can hop on a boat and go surf Playa Escondida and get some great reef / shelf tubes running over a beautiful reef. Then we could always shoot north to Caldera and then Boca Barranca. The options are pretty much endless when thinking about planning a surf trip to Costa Rica. Dominical is near the southern end of Costa Rica on the pacific side.
Dominical is a small beach town a little blown out but has a nice beach and the town has most things you want. You can rent a surf board for $10. and bogie boards for $5. shop around as some rent for double. Rental places like to find damage as a way to make more money off the rental . So take care of the board. The beach has lifeguards that are volunteers. Depending on the time of year beach can have string rays , crabs and jellyfish. Beaches can have sand fleas. We stayed in Hacienda Baru and drove the 10 minutes to Dominical. The town is a bit funky and on the rough side but fun to visit. Some may find it a bit un kept. A number of expats have made this their home for some years.

This week we had a group made up of all ability levels and a big swell. The awesome thing about our location is that no matter how big or small the waves are there's always something for everyone. We took the more advanced girls to the point, and the more beginners to the inside and everyone scored!
Grutas de Tolantongo Hidalgo, qué hacer y cómo llegar
Las Grutas de Tolantongo son un parque ecoturístico famoso por sus pozas de agua termal, en este video te decimos todo lo que necesitas saber para visitarlo y aprovecharlo al máximo.
*Grutas de Tolantongo
Están en la Sierra del Estado de Hidalgo, se caracterizan por tener un rio de agua termal color turqueza que desde hace siglos se le conoce como Tolantongo que quiere decir, lugar donde se siente calorsito
*Cómo llegar a las Grutas de Tolantongo
-Desde la ciudad de México hay que tomar la carretera hacia Pachuca, de ahí desviarse hacia Actopan y seguir rumbo a Ixmiquilpan, ya en ese pueblo, tomar la desviación hacia las Grutas de Tolantongo, pero hay que tener cuidado y no manejar de noche pues el último tramo hacia el parque puede ser peligroso si no hay luz.
*Cómo llegar a Tolantongo en avión
El aeropuerto más cercano a Tolantongo es:

*Qué hacer en las Grutas de Tolantongo
-Aquí hay varias actividades recreativas para toda la familia, nosotros te recomendamos realizar el siguiente recorrido:
1.- Relajarte temprano en las pozas termales del Hotel Paraíso Esconido.
2.-Pasar por el puente colgante y regresar por el tunel de vapor.
3.-Desayunar en la cocina económica Paraiso.
4.-Visitar las Grutas y el el segundo tunel dentro de la Cascada Tolantongo.
5.-Disfrutar la tarde nadando en el río termal.
6.-Comer antojitos en las fondas de los hoteles
7.-Hacer una fogata y pasar la noche mirando las estrellas.
También hay toboganes, piscinas y el parque cuenta con la tirolesa más larga de Hidalgo, sin embargo no hicimos esas actividades por que nos dedicamos a relajarnos y se nos pasó el tiempo.
*Como tips recuerden:
-Llevar dinero en efectivo, ya que no se aceptan tarjetas en Tolantongo.
-Usar Zapátos acuáticos dentro de las Pozas, las Grutas y el río.
-Respetar los horarios y seguir las indicaciones del staff.
